We had some leftover crabs so I picked them with crab dip in mind. It'll be my first time making it. I see a lot of the same simple recipes from google. What's your's?

I'm open to other suggestions for what to make with the crab as well, I've just really had a craving for crab dip :yum:

I'm from GA, so my dip is very different. I have a cold crab dip recipe, but back home, hot crab dip is served at just about every social event.

1 pound jumbo lump crabmeat, free of shells
1 cup grated pepper jack cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise (I use Duke's Mayo)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup green onions, minced, optional
5-6 roasted garlic cloves or 2 cloves minced
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon or lime juice
1 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1/2teaspoon dry mustard
salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Grate a cup of jack cheese and toss it into the crab meat. Then add parmesan cheese, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, lemon, garlic, salt, dry mustard, hot sauce, ground pepper, and bind it with mayonnaise. Gently stir until thoroughly mixed. Bake for 40 minutes. Serve hot.

Here's the cold dip recipe

1 1/4 cups mayonnaise (preferably Duke’s)
1 cup lump crabmeat
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon horseradish
4 tablespoons French dressing (the orange kind)

Mix gently together, spoon into serving bowl and wrap with plastic wrap up aginst the dip and chill.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to do a little combination of both migtig's and dawn's. The artichoke and spinach dip with crab is really good at CIP but I have a picky eater that will try my homemade dip and I don't want to hear "what's this green stuff?"

Also, buffalo crab dip sounds yummy. I'll have to try that next time.

What about replacing the mayo with the sammich spread and adding Old Bay; then just add garlic to the rest of your recipe?

I made it last night and it was so good! Easy to make with plenty of it leftover. I added pepper jack cheese, and more cheese in general, to the recipe Dawn linked. Served on slices of baguette. We had to force ourselves to put it away so we'd have room for our steaks
