.... or plug something else (lamp) into that outlet and see if it works.

Okay you two, I am NOT that dumb :lmao: Yes, I tried other outlets. I will try another power cord and see what happens.

:yeahthat: PM me the service tag from the laptop and I'll see if maybe I have one you could try.

Ex DH has the same power cord so I will try that. Thanks though. The battery might be hosed too since it went completely dead. I don't know.

I have a headache.

dodododo

For grins and giggles, we plugged in the old one, and it's working now :yikes:

Just charging the battery in case I need something off there, but I think I should still get a new one.

I don't want to go to Staples or Best Buy Aps :lmao:

I should have remembered to tell you that... new batteries have "smarts" in them that sometimes go stupid, and they won't charge. Simply removing the battery, counting to 30 and re-inserting it sometimes makes it "smart" again. I need to do that on IBM Thinkpads all the time.

We tried his power cord last night and waalaa!! :yahoo: It's just the power cord. My battery charged to 21% before he had to leave, so it appears my battery is A-OK. Now, I just need one of these....

DELL Inspiron Latitude PA-12 AC Power Adapter + Cord.

Found one here...

http://www.replacementpower.com/store/main.aspx?p=itemdetail&item=T7423&c=&t=1

but I haven't bought it yet.

Looked on Ebay but all of the ones I found are used. I want new, not used.

:yahoo: Glad your 'puter isn't dayed.

I am happy it is not the battery, but the powercord still needs to be replaced. Even though it is juicing the battery, the box is getting really hot and it made this spark sound. It's dying. I will order the one I found online or keep checking on Ebay for new ones.

Sorry your pc is still broked Basher. That really sucks!! :flowers:

I rememeber the recall, but I didn't do anything about it. :stupid: So far, so good. The power adapter is working like a charm and hasn't gotten hot since the last time I said it was.

:yay: It's all good so far. Still checking Ebay for a deal on a new one. :yay:
