Guess I'm going to have to go home tonight and break little Bubba's heart and throw away his collection of >200 hotwheels.

2 years old is too young for hotwheels?? How long has it been since you had a 2 year old boy in your house?

Hell, my 2 year old sleeps with his.. Before going to bed he surveys his kingdom and picks out 4 or 5 of his favorites before jaunting off to bed. I guess i could by him a cabbage patch doll, or a purple dinosaur to sleep with. NOT!

I think maybe she has never had a 2 year old boy in the house. Then she would understand that from the moment they see something with wheels that they have to have it. It's genetic -- they can't help it. Seriously, what is the kid going to do? If your 2 year old is going to swallow a hot wheels car whole, then you have a bigger problem on your hands than just the hot wheels.

I have had a two-year-old boy in my house TYVM. He's now 15 because he didn't choke to death on a hotwheel or other age-inappropriate toy when he was 2 because he didn't have them until he was older. And no, they don't "have to have it". The only reason they do is because mommy and daddy can't ever say "No" and give them everything their little hearts desire whether it's good for them or not.

Wow, you're an idiot.

If nobody has ever pointed that out to you before, you're welcome.

Oh forgot, we're buying him a 600cc ATV next week, and building him a dirt track complete with jumps and whoodee doos... I don't think he'll choke on those..

But that's what he said he wanted, so by doG.. that's what he's going to get.

OK now I'm curios (because I don't have a boy) so I checked the recommeded age....

Hot Wheels 20 Car Gift Pack - Mattel - Toys "R" Us
Hot Wheels 20 pk gift set - recommended age 3+

Matchbox 10 Pack Car Assortment - Mattel - Toys "R" Us
same for Matchbox 20pk set - 3+

A product's "Manufacturer's Age" range on Toysrus.com & Babiesrus.com is provided by the product's manufacturer. This suggested age range may be based on what age range the manufacturer recommends will like the product best, or what age range is appropriate based on safety information and restrictions. Each suggested age range meets U.S. safety standards.

Could be safety related but not sure. Either way seems as it's up to the parent.
I can't say that my girl didn't 100% play with age appropriate toys.
To each his own.

Ah, no.
What I'm saying is I was curious as to what age child the manufacturer recommends their toy. It's 3+.

Had nothing to do with how smart your child is.

I used to be in a playgroup - but the last time I hosted the wicked mother of the west gave her demon a lollypop and a pen - both of which were all over my walls, floor, carpet. Needless to say - we don't play with them anymore.

I also no longer play with kids who blatenetly disobey their parents repeatedly -my kids are well behaved for their ages and we don't need the routine bad examples.

My kiddos are 8,9 and 12 and were all in their rooms doing homework. They always get upset when these friends come over and keep their bedroom doors shut. The Legosandcars are shared toys so they stay on shelve in family room.

And your kids make a mess with toys do you make them or you if they are too little clean up before you leave? We have friends who come :cussing:ver alot andwhen they leave I have Legos and Hotwheels all over the house. They just get up and leave. I'm really thinking about just dropping the friendship with them. They treat my house like their house but not in a good way.

tell them u no longer want the kids over unless they clean up or take urs over and do the same to their house a few times and see what happens
