I have one of those black wire cage/kennels for my Lab. It's the kind that has the plastic tray you can slide out for cleaning. Problem is the tray broke and had to be thrown away. Is there somewhere I can just buy the tray? TIA.

When we kenneled our dogs, we have a pretty large cage (one for lab and one for doberman) and we used these when the pans broke (2 mats fit perfectly in their cage). It was great for them to lay on, and pulled out easy for clean up. They sell these everywhere, we bought ours a BJ's (I think they came 12 to a pack).

That would work for the oldest. We could give his tray to the puppy. She(the puppy) chewed the blankets I put in there for her.

Yep, a puppy would have a field day with those! My dogs were older by the time the pans broke so it was perfect when I figured it out!

We have the same cage, and our lab chewed the tray up. So then we put a bed in there for him, hoping he wouldn't chew that. He did good for a couple of days, then that bed was gone. We have a lot of extra carpet from the basement being finished, so my husband cut him a piece that fits the whole cage. The dog loves it and hasn't chewed it up yet! :yahoo:

I'm also in need of a replacement tray because ours cracked in 4 places on the bottom. I think I'm going to duct tape them and see if that holds for a while.

That's what we did when Cody's cracked. It cracked right away and he wasn't getting any lighter, so we didn't replace it. He's not crated anymore so it's not an issue, but it held up for years.

That's exactly what happened to ours. We've had the tray for about 6 years. She's chewed every blanket we've put in there so another tray it is. They all stay in there while we are at work. Not sure why after 6 yrs, we've never left the oldest one inside while we are gone. Of course, after hubby was on travel for an entire summer he started pee'ing in the garage, grrr. That could be why .

Duct tape can do wonders, and it comes in so many great colors now too!

I saw the replacement trays online at petco..but do they have them at the store?

Dumbdog chewed up his tray..I put a beautiful soft bed in there..he loved it, ran in, flopped down and loved it for two days..then ate it. Then we cut a piece of spare carpet out and put it in there loved it for three days..and then shredded it to bits all over my floor :cds:

I guess I need to get another tray..or is there somewhere I can get a reallly tough and durable vinyl mat he can't ruin?

That's exactly what my 2 females do. They are 2 and 1 1/2 yrs old. Male pushes his bed in the corner of the crate, he could care less. We are moving soon and will have enough room to get them each a bed for in the house but I really don't want to find it strung from one end to the other.
