Where to donate used bikes?

Does anyone know where to donate used bikes?
I know the local thrift store will take them but in past years I remember a group (Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, etc.) collecting used bikes and fixing them and then giving them to kids for Christmas. If you have any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

I dont think toys for tots takes used stuff and fixes it any more.
all that work was done by the marines that donated their time to the cause.
With the increase in training that they have been going through since the 80s they have had to abandon the refurbishing end and now only ask that new stuff be given.

why not just put it in the back of your truck and park in the shopping mall in Waldorf for a few minutes?
someone will be happy to donate it to themselves when you leave the area.

LOL, my bro in Delaware put a used (working) refrigerator on his front lawn with a sign that said "Free" a week went by and no one took it, so he changed the sign to $50.00 and that night, someone stole it!!! :jameo:

Last I checked, he's already got a HUGE pile of used bikes out back - and I think he said he doesn't do that anymore - but it wouldn't hurt to call, I suppose.

You can also take old bikes to the St. Andrews Landfill, they have a little shed to drop them off where others can pick them up.

St. Mary's College has the bike program where you ride the bike to whatever building and leave it for someone else to use. You can call 240-895-3312 and they can give you the details.

I think he's looking to donate them to somebody that NEEDS them. Not college punks to lazy to walk across campus.

Unless it's one of those pink 13" Barbie bikes

Yea man. As a graduate of SMCM, I can safely say that the only crime I have witnessed was of stolen bikes. I mean.....cant they just go to Vintage values or something and buy a used POS bike? I went there with my awesome brand spankin' new Schwinne (spelling?) and after that got stolen I bought myself a $5 20 year old girl's bike. I rode that around everywhere and nobody stole it...even when I didnt even lock it up....best $5 I spent!
