Where to get ducklings?

How much does th shipping cost?(For efowl)

It's expensive. I ordered 8 ducks at once ( even though they were shipped in groups of 4, due to the appleyards having a later hatch date) and the extra fee for a small order of 8 was $25. (it'd be more for an even smaller order) Plus the shipping was $21.75. The ducks were about $4 each for the rouens and black swedish and $8 each for the pure silver appleyards. so I spent like $100 on 8 ducks. :yikes:

But I wanted breed specific ducks, and they're harder than you think to find around here.

How do you determine the emotional state of a duck?

Ducks do get depressed, especially when they're by themselves. They're flock animals and like company.

You can definitely tell the difference in their behavior when they're depressed. Happy ducks are social and comical, obviously content to swim, preen and have a good ole time free ranging etc. Mine will come up and eat right out of my hand. When they're not happy, they're listless, less social, don't eat right, don't wander like they should and will call and call for their mates or company.

Besides, I'm the duck whisperer and they just tell me.

Off topic a bit, but I'm boycotting TSC.

We went there on last monday or so, and we were looking at all of the baby animals. My mom is a huge animal lover so upon noticing that the baby duckies had no water, she lifted up the water container to kind of summon someone who worked there.

Do you know what we found, lying underneath?

A smooshed baby duckie.

Now how in the world does a baby duckie get underneath a heavy water container? Oh wait, someone must have put it ontop and smooshed it.

Sorry to put a damper on things, I hope I didn't ruin anything. Good luck in your baby duck searching and I hope you get a companion for your current duck soon.

actually that happens quite a bit sometimes,
they get pushed under there by the other chicks and end up just getting stuck, it happened to one in the batch that my work got in this spring. but we were watching as it happened so he didnt die

then again, i dont like tsc anyway i try not to shop there, i just wished more places where i live sold their one brand of dog food.

We were in Tractor Supply last Saturday. They had 2 different types of chicks and 2 different types of ducklings.

Anybody want this Silver Appleyard/ Khaki Campbell drake? He's about 9 months old and very healthy. He's driving me crazy wanting to jump on top of every duck I have. At least my other drakes know how to behave like gentleman. He's aggressive with the ducks and would probably do better with someone whos got just pet drakes. He's going to end up on my dinner table soon if can't re-home him.
