thanks for all the feedback and entertainment...

yeah, i've bought a couple of the jugs from lowe's/giant at $6/each but am seeking a cheaper option - in TX and CA I used to pay 2ish dollars to refill them. sounds like walmart has what i'm looking for - i'll check it out (i'm assuming people are talking about the one in california?) true, a filter would be an even better option.

Yes, the walmart in California. As described in the earlier post, it's all the way back by the baby stuff and dairy.

If it were me, I'd invest in a water filter system and refill my own at home so I didn't have to lug 5 gallon containers around and pay someone else for clean water.

Which I did....

leave him alone, let him buy his "filtered" water and place it in his plastic (carenogenic releasing) containers.

On Route 488 (LaPlata Road) near Piney Church Road is a natural spring. Lots of people fill there jugs there and it is free. Just sick your jugs under the pipe that has been installed and fill up.

I used to live close to there and I've filled up jugs there many, many times too! Its good water! Whenever company visited me from out of state they'd always want to take fresh spring water back with them! Its a good spot! :buddies:

I know the Safeway in PF has one of these. We lived in a basement apartment for a few months waiting on our house sale. It had horrible icky water so we would get our water at the Safeway.

I hated every minute of it, too. Hated bringing the water bottles back to the store, hated filling them up, lugging them back to the apartment. But it was a lot cheaper than buying new bottles each time.

Why not just add a filter to the kitchen sink?

It wasn't my place. The water had a gray-ish tinge to it, too. I actually didn't think my short sale home purchase would take 7 months, either.
