Who can fix bent ATV frames?

Good morning everyone!

The title says it all. In the past week I purchased a used ATV and was pretty happy. I had people over for dinner this weekend and let 2 buddies try out my ATV. One of them had no problems and returned with nary a scratch. The other guy, well he found a tree at a fairly decent speed and decided to play chicken. The tree won.

The person in question is willing to do what they can to make things right and I believe him. He'll pay to fix it so I have to find a place that can.

With all of the sportsman and ATV and MX racers in the area somebody has to know of a shop or person who can bend, weld, and fix a bent up quad.

Please let me know who can do this. If a muffler shop, chassis shop, or even a plumber or Amish gentleman did good work for you I'll give them a consideration. I'm local to the base so not having to truck it to Waldorf or beyond is a bonus.

Thank you, have a great day, and God Bless all. :patriot:

Send a PM to Gumbo - he owns an autobody shop AND is an ATV connoisseur. He might be able to take a look and do the work himself or point you in the right direction.

He is located in Charlotte Hall.

Not sure when the last time he logged on, but I will get someone to look at this post to point him in this direction and read his PM.

Good luck. :yay:

I'd go with Gumbo.

Hey, thanks guys.

The quad is a Suzuki Vinson 500cc 4x4. Full auto tranny. I've looked for frames online and haven't had any success. I actually found a site that had people requesting frames. I guess a bunch of people wreck these things.

I'll send a PM to Gumbo. I'm doing legwork now trying to find shops. Atlantic Cycle or other pro shops 40 minutes away are on the backburner for now.

If anybody finds a frame I'll go that route in a heartbeat. I can get the A-arms on Ebay no problem.

Ronayers.com: Search

$551

If that link doesn't work, just go to ronayers.com, click on "fiche" and navigate your way through the various models and parts. Also took a guess on the year so not sure this is the exact frame you need.

Thanks, I should have specified 2005. I'll look that up and hopefully get this fixed. I'm weary of $75+ labor rates making the fix cost nearly the amount that I paid.

You rock! I'll be looking at the site in a minute. Thank you!

Dumb question: How's the "other guy?"

It seems that all will be well.

The rider of the ATV is fine. His bruises will heal. I will be getting a new frame and other parts to replace what has now become modern art. Both of us can be content with this resolution.

Now I have to avoid the temptation to modifiy the engine (589cc stroker kit!) once it's apart. Hmmm....I could change the plastics out for black ones. And I might as well add aluminum skid plates....

It's a slippery slope.
