I agree that the men are wired differently! John Gray apparently made a very comfortable living preaching about the many differences in his Mars Venus series of books and tapes. I am currently reading a book titled Succubus written by Dr. Mary Ayres. She has the opinion that men spend most of their lives trying to overcome shame. Apparently the theory is that they feel they cannot live up to perfection, so often they create a facade of strength and hide their shame by building a wall to hide their feelings... then they perform to the expectations that they perceive we desire - to fool us. So even though we are just fine using our nail file, they feel compelled to run out, get the screwdriver, and show us how 'manly' they are!
Most of the time this behavior just makes me want to scream!

That's interesting. Guys are raised to be fixers, so it makes sense that they'd freak over nail files and high heels. And the facade of strength sounds about right, too.

I've come to the conclusion I'd rather hire someone to do a repair I can't do - than have a male friend fix "whatever"...If I had to pay them hourly - I couldn't afford them. Just saying.
