Simple thing that works for me is to cut out ALL white stuff. If it is white do not eat it for 2 or more weeks. Pasta, taters, rice, bread.. Yea it is a no or low carb diet but I hate to read packages and books.. No white is just easier.

But after a couple of weeks I just have to eat pasta.... I crave it.

The second diet that works for me is to skip breakfast and lunch, eat the house for diner and smoke cigs and drink coffee when the urge to eat comes upon you. This is an automatic 9 to 10 pounds a week diet...

That's a metabolism killer though. Eat 6-8 smaller meals (all portioned out correctly, getting your slower burning carbs in earlier in the day as opposed to later) throughout the day (every 2 to 2.5 hours) along with a ton of water.

That'll keep your metabolism higher allowing you to burn more bodyfat while keeping your body supplied with a constant flow of proper nutrients.

Of course, if there's some sort of medical exception you'd want to see a doctor perhaps.

Good Luck! :yay:
I have to agree with this one - eat lots of small meals/snacks and you will burn more calories. It seems contrary to "dieting" where you think you have to starve. Eat breakfast - even if it's a protein shake - or a piece of fruit or hardboiled egg. Then have a snack mid-morning, fruit or veggies or even a handful of nuts. Then have a nice lunch - salad with chicken - little to no dressing, or salmon with green veggies - no butter. Then a mid afternoon snack, then dinner - remember to increase your veggie portions and limit your meat to fish and chicken - broiled. If you drink coffee - cut out the sugar and use powdered cremora. It's better imho to drink tea with lemon in the am. Also, cut out all sodas. I do mean all - including the diet ones. Substitute with crystal light in your water.

Don't you pick on Lean Cuisines - they taste good :yum:
The last time I had one of those, I imagine the carton had to have tasted better. :ohwell:

I assume the taste has improved if YOU promote them. :yay:

Thanks everyone. Lots of good suggestions. I always eat breakfast...usually it's oatmeal or an egg. They keep me full until lunch usually. If I get hungry before lunch I've been snacking on a small handfull of nuts. My main thing is dinnertime. It's hard to be "good" when BF is eating all kinds of yummy stuff.

Grilled vegetables don't have to be boring. Our creamy garlic-dill dip turns peppers and mushrooms into a delicious side.

Ingredients

  • 1 small garlic clove(s)
  • 1/8 tsp table salt
  • 1 tsp fresh dill, minced
  • 1/4 cup fat-free sour cream
  • 1/2 cup plain fat-free yogurt
  • 3 medium sweet red pepper(s), or a combination of red, yellow and green peppers
  • 16 small cremini mushrooms, or white mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
  • 2 sprays olive oil cooking spray
  • 1/4 tsp table salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions

  • To prepare dip, mash garlic and 1/8 teaspoon of salt together in a small serving bowl with a serrated spoon or a utensil with a sharp edge. Stir in dill, sour cream and yogurt; set aside.
  • Preheat grill to high. To prepare kabobs, core and seed each pepper; cut each into 8 chunks. Arrange 3 pieces of pepper and 2 mushrooms on each of eight 12-inch metal skewers. Lightly coat kabobs with cooking spray; season with salt and pepper.
  • Grill kabobs until peppers are tender and lightly browned, about 5 minutes per side. Serve kabobs with dip. Yields 1 kabob and about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dip per serving.

This super easy stir-fry is packed with flavor. We tossed in some chopped cashews for lots of crunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 tsp sesame oil, divided
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp ginger root, finely chopped
  • 3 small garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 1 pound uncooked boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 large sweet red pepper(s), cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 cup broccoli, florets
  • 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 20 items cashews, roasted, unsalted, roughly chopped
Instructions

  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over high heat. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil, ginger and garlic; cook 15 seconds. Add chicken and stir-fry until starting to brown, about 3 to 4 minutes; remove to a plate.
  • Add remaining teaspoon of vegetable oil, pepper and broccoli to same skillet; stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add chicken back to skillet, pour in soy sauce and cook, stirring, until chicken is cooked through, about 2 minutes more; toss with remaining 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil. Sprinkle on cashews and serve. Yields about 1 3/4 cup per serving.
Notes

  • We chopped the nuts so we could cut back on the total amount used but still sprinkle a lot on the dish.

But...they are loaded with salt and will actually cause you to retain water if you eat them regularly.
The body needs salt. Without salt, you would die. And water's better than fat.

I started yesterday following a diet that was in Woman's World magazine. The article says it's the LA Weight Loss diet plan. There are 3 menu options for breakfast, lunch and dinner that you can pick from. You do these for 5 days, then 2 days you follow a different menu. You also get 2 snacks per day and dessert. So far, so good. It's pretty filling so I don't feel I'm starving myself.

Here, I scanned it a copy of the diet I'm following.

I'm also forcing myself to go to the gym again. I have a membership, but rarely go anymore. I went yesterday and today so far this week.
