Wireless connection

You plug it into the USB port on the laptop and it picks up the signal. I guess you would have to disable your internal card. There should be a switch to do that. Let me know if you want to borrow it. The laptop I needed it for is out for repair so it's not being used.

I will let you know if I need it. With Mike's, I mean Baja's, suggestion...I guess we could just do that.

Here I sit home alone with his laptop right next to me, with a fast, awesome connection, but I refuse to give up on mine. I like free stuff :diva:

You nut!! :killingme You have a BB connection right there. Go to walmart & get a Linksys "wireless G" 2.4GhZ. $59.99 Then you both can use wireless and he doesn't have to "plug in" to his BB router. :yay:

I don't get it. He doesn't plug in to anything. He has this card thing that he plugs in the side of his laptop. Again :stupid: He can go anywhere with his...driving down the road, in the basement, on the beach, on the bike, blah blah blah. Me, I'm confined to my little corner and can't move

You can get a EVDO router.

Kyocera Kr1 Evdo Wireless Mobile Router EV-DO (TXRTR10000) | TXRTR10000 [Kyocera] | Kyocera Kr1 Evdo Wireless Mobile Router EV-DO (TXRTR10000) ev do router wireless router wifi router kr1 kr-1 kr1 wypipe wy-pipe ypipe y pipe y-piple Whypipe wy pipe T

Then he would just put his card in that router and you both could use it. You just wouldn't have it if he took the card with him somewhere and you were home.

My suggestion would to be replace the neighbors router and see how that works for you. Staples has a 14 day return policy.

I will check with him to see what he thinks. Interesting items out there these days. As long as he is paying what he does for his broadband, I mind as well reap the benefits too, right?

I will also check with my neighbor to see if she just moved some stuff around. I used to be able to use my laptop where ever I wanted in the house. This has been a recent problem, but I'm really not one to complain to her when I am getting it for free, ya know?

Oops, I'd better back up. I don't know where the disk is that came with it. I'll look around more.

Found it.

I'm still confused. I don't know what all this sheyot is that they speak of, but I'll let D read it and it will make more sense to him. I just want a solid connection. That is all

You home alone.........:snacks:

ha ha ha ha ha

Too bad you don't know where I live :smack:

DR, if you have one of those I could borrow to see if it works, that would be great. That way, we could test it before we actually buy one. Check around and let me know.

Appreciate it DR. Let me talk to him when he gets back and see what he wants to do. That router thing that Workaholic speaks of sounds like the trick.

Do not go for the KR1. It's at the end of it's life cycle, has had many problems and is no longer truly supported by Kyocera. There are other boxes out there that do the same thing, work better. Top Global would be better suited to a Sprint data card.

Good Catch. I would definitely do some more research on them before purchasing one.
