Wireless connection

Good Catch. I would definitely do some more research on them before purchasing one.

That is why I will try DR's, if he can find it...see if it works the way we need it to, and then buy something. I am just so clueless. I have no idea what you all are even talking about :lmao:

Do not go for the KR1. It's at the end of it's life cycle, has had many problems and is no longer truly supported by Kyocera. There are other boxes out there that do the same thing, work better. Top Global would be better suited to a Sprint data card.

I don't think what I have would work, it's wireless router. Could she plug that into the other laptop and hook it up that way?

I hope you are not asking me

The kids say my computer will pick up his BB. They have this yellow cord. I've never seen it happen though.

They do it somehow through their X-Box though and it shows up on the TV screen

I'm smart in many ways, just not this way. :nerd:

No, just whoever might know. It's hard to keep up with this stuff, isn't it?

No there is no way to make that work for what you need.

Well now I am confused again, as usual. That link you posted, GW said it wouldn't work or it's outdated or something. So now what do I get?

Too many unknowns to make a recommendation. There are a few different cellular routers out there, but not all of them work with all cards. Need to know the specific model of the Sprint card being used, for a start.

There is also this to consider: The Sprint card is removed from the laptop and plugged into the router to allow you to connect via wireless. That means when he wants to use his computer somewhere else, he has to remove the card from the router and put it back in his computer, and you go off-line. If he takes it out of the house alot, that's not a great plan.

But then I resort to how I am connecting now. That is not a problem. It is not often that we are apart...so that's not really an issue. When I am at work, I cannot access a pc, I have not time. When he's at work, he has the option of taking his laptop, but he's been leaving it here. Even if it's not here, I can still resort to the "stealing" I have been doing.

I seriously just wondered if wireless cards go bad and that is why I am getting a bad connection. Of course, like any thread, it developed into more and now I want to look into how I can connect to his BB.

Here is one from Linksys.
Amazon.com: Linksys Wireless-G Router for Sprint Mobile Broadband WRT54G3G - Wireless router + 4-port switch - EN, Fast EN, 802.11b, 802.11g: Electronics

This one has the highest user ratings on Amazon. It sounds like there was some issue with it last year but they may have been fixed by now.

I am not extremely familiar with these routers are their abilities. I have and still do use the SonicWall TZ190. This is overkill for what you need and it is pricey compared to the Linksys and DLink Models.

Here is the link just FYI.
