Not only that. I don't recall ANY lessons on child raising at all. Unlike the quoted author seems to insist.

We had a Family Life class, something like that, where the basics of child care and marriage and whatever were discussed. My son was born in an Army hospital and before they'd let me take him home I had to pass a class to diaper him, feed him, etc. (It wasn't just me, everyone had to do it.) I appreciated it because I had never cared for an infant before and I found it very helpful, but there were several women who were pissed that they had to prove they could take care of their baby.

She probably inherited her parenting skills from her mother.
They don't teach Home Ec. in schools any more.

It's funny, they want to teach them everything about Trans-gendering and acceptance of homosexuals in school, but they teach them nothing about real life such as making a meal, doing their taxes , taking care of children. Bring back Home ec.
Waaaay back in the early 1970s even us guys had to take Home Economics. Learned to cook, sew, iron, etc. All badly, mid you, but still learned these skills, nonetheless. Thought it was silly then, but looking back I think it was one of the best/most beneficial classes I ever took (actually, was forced to take).

I dodged Home-Ec etc.

I opted for the typing class and muttered under my breath for 10 months "Never gonna use this worthless ####!"

Yep. I even remember what I made in sewing class....a shop apron. Would have been very early 70s...
Ah yes, that's what we called the apron we had to make. Kept the frills off and called it a "shop" apron b/c "kitchen" apron would just get one beat up in the bathroom between classes.

Yup. Early 1970s.

Fun times. Good times.

A Florida mother is accused of throwing her baby against a wooden fence in a fit of rage because the child wouldn’t stand up, police said.
Absolutely tragic.

Yes, the article says drugs may have been involved, but I suspect that is only the tip of the iceberg.

🙏 Hope & pray the rest of the family is less troubled than the accused. 🙏 Hope & pray the baby makes a full recovery as my fear is TBI. And as a result of what little we could glean from the article about the mom, I pray there's no FAS for the baby to deal with.

You should do some research into how much money H&R block and other tax preparers have spent making sure that financial planning and tax preparation classes stay out of schools. even passing laws in some state outlawing them. They have also ensured that the IRS doesnt offer free filing and doesnt make the tax code easier. It's sick how easily our system is manipulated by money from big corporations

NOTHING in this post links to ANY Information and ONLY Contains YOUR Ramblings ......

Seems like you don't read articles.

Nothing YOU Posted Anywhere in this thread contained ANY information about the H&R Block / Turbo Tax Lobbying Efforts. UNTIL you Posted the VOX link After I called you out to back up YOUR Assertions

Or have never heard of lobbyists, special interests or pork

Of Course I have :shortbus: YOU Provided NO Information to back up your assertion Until I called you on it

No wonder you have no idea how politics works and believe Trump knows what he is doing.

There are some signs of opposition as the bill goes to the full House for passage. Dan Riffle, policy director for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), correctly identified the bill as a massive giveaway to the tax preparation industry:

Congratulations to @HRBlock and @turbotax for their successful acquisition of @RepRichardNeal and the entire Democratic leadership. https://t.co/lTStUevhaa

Yep, I took home eco in 9th grade with two other guys, learned about the same as you. I could cook a basic meal, sew a button, thread a bobbin and a few other home needs to get by when needed. In HS I took gourmet foods for 3 years. Time well spent.
