Where did law enforcement "fail" her? Seems to me they arrested the guy? What part of apprehending this guy and locking him up is a failure?

Theft is theft,,what would you do if it was yours or any member of your family's ?
tell them you can't do anything ? If you are the law enforcement person you claim to be you will move heaven and earth to make matters right.
She didn't commit the crime but suppose the bastard cleaned out her 401 account...reply like the idiots and say"sorry, we regret your loss but can't do anything about it"
Or are you telling me that there are two different sets of laws : one for you and yours and one for the rest of us ?

First things first. If I were a member of your family, I would send you back to fifth grade so you could learn reading and comprehension. The reason for this is I questioned why “Law Enforcement failed” when Law Enforcement is the entity which locked this bad guy up. When a member of my family had this done, I assisted them in contacting the people who investigate these matters. I hope that adequately answers your question.

The message she heard from each was the same: We can’t help you. She even went to an attorney, who delivered bad news.

Buy a house, trash it, and not pay for it?

According to the article him using it to get a job had no effect on her credit.

OK, you're upset about the illegals, I get that, but this seems like a decent hard working guy that's doing what needs to be done to take care of his family. No mention of him getting welfare benefits, disability, food stamps or any other governmnet aid using her SSN.

Seems like he's not even a 10th the criminal about 10 million Americans are.

He stole her identity...which means should he do any of those things that you say he didn't do, she would be in a world of hurt trying to clear her name and character. Would you rather wait until these things happen or nip the problem in the bud ? The burden and the cost would be on her to clear her name..not him.
He may be the decent man you say he is, but I wouldn't want to take the chance.

Well if someone from Mexico or Canada wants to live the American Dream, they shouldn't have to resort to crossing the border illegaly, and buying documents on a street corner. They are our neighbors and allies not our enemy.

I doubt this person knew what he was doing, other than getting a piece of paper that would allow him to get a job and to work to support his family.

We are supposed to be the beacon of freedom and democracy, but only for the people lucky enough to be born here?

If we opened up our borders and let every single mexican move up here and the last one shut the lights off on his way across the Rio Grande our economy would be booming.

AND we'd save BILLIONS of dollars a year guarding an unguardable border.

I hope that I never get into a situation that forces me to move to a foreign country where I don't know the language, know I'm not wanted, and everyone hates me to afford to give my family a decent life. Seems to me most of these Mexicans have a greater grasp on the American Ideal then most Americans.
