Exactly what Kain said.

If you are in the legal field there are lots of people out there that need certain documents drawn up and just can't afford to seek a regular attorney. I for a fact know that my attorney passes everything on to her paralegal (who works from home.) But of course still charges me an arm and leg...gotta love those attorney's.

Might be something to look into.

But that would be practicing law without a degree... correct me if I'm wrong, but it's one thing to help, it's another to charge and receive payment for this...

This seems like the same thing as having a med tech or nurse doing things a doctor shoudl be doing.... for example, you seeing a nurse because she's cheaper and she gets paid for it.... does that make sense? There are somethings you cannot practice without a degree.... You can research if you are a paralegal, but you can't give advice as far as a know of .

It all comes down to how she presents herself. A simple disclaimer at the bottom of the home page should Cover her azz. Seriously. If she's a paralegal she simple states that and she's clear.

have you considered prostitution? if the kids arent home, and your hubby works all day, it could work out well.

I would definitely put a disclaimer saying you are not an attorney and you can not give out advice, but if you are familiar with legal forms why not charge? I would check with an attorney first though.

Maybe even send your resume out to attorneys. I sometimes see attorneys looking for help (working from home.) Wouldn't hurt to try.

What about making crafts? Some of those women make bank!

I really like that idea, especially with the holidays coming up -- you could make wreaths or if you're into knitting or sewing, make some cute Christmas stuff. :yay:

I've seen locals in Solomon's Island with tables set up with their crafted goods, a good way to get your name out there.

Boy and here I was already working on my two-week notice... but seriously who would want to use someone that disclaimed their azzes off... That would make me as a consumer leery of a scam or something....

You can make decent money doing medical transcription, I had a friend who used to type for four hours a day. SHe went through an agency who would send her cassettes. It is probably the only thing an intelligent person can do and not go stark raving mad, and make some cash to keep a household running. You can do it after the kids go to bed, just have to meet deadlines. Do a search on the web for transcription services. You could do doctors notes, transcriptions of interviews in many industries (marketing company XYZ completes 50 interviews and tapes them and then wants someone cheap tp write them up).

I myself work from home, but as manager of a consultantcy to the pharma industry with 10 years experience behind me. Justifies my $70 an hour (well, the $70 I get after billing the client $120). :) But I get distracted with laundry, kid stuff, decorating, and riding horses when I get too much down time.

Good luck. It's out there, go do it.

Ooooooo, guess I was not supposed to post my salary. Sorry if you are jealous, Person Who Sent Bad Karma. I will keep my personals to myself from now on. Thanks for the check.

Do you have a law degree

You said you are in the legal field but don't make that much money and what you do gets forked over to child care. Can you narrow your interest down a little.... I might be able to weed out the fake scams for you if interested.

I don't have a legal degree, I was goin gto go to law school but no way can I do that I would have to go full time and then it would take me 7 years, so that is out, and I have also thought about getting my paralegal degree, but I have not had anytime to inquire about online classes ect. SO...I love customer service, I enjoy the computer? I can do anything really!

The only problem with that is you never know how much you will make or if your crafts will sell? That is a great idea, but also risky.

Without any concrete background, degrees, knowledge or experience, why would you want to practice law and worry about disclaimers and lawsuits  Justwonderg

How about Ebay? You could do crafts and also put them on Ebay. I also know this woman to makes a decent living buy selling stuff off Ebay. The buyer ususally pays for the shipping so you aren't really having to shell out any money unless the supplies for crafts.

As for this woman I know...she buys things fixes them up (she's really crafty like that) and sells them. She loves it does it from home.

Just a sugguestion...

Okay maybe I am confused but I said I wanted to go to law school, but I am UNABLE to go full time. Then I have thought about becoming a paralegal. I do now work in a law firm and I like it very much and have learned alot here. And if I went to school I would have the concrete background I needed. So did I miscomunicate something?

You stated you are "in the legal field" that could be anything from an attorney to a mailroom guy or a fax person.... I was trying to narrow down things so I can help or look for options for ya'. :ohwell:

My biggest advice I can advise for you would be to make the commute to DC and get paid what attorneys down in Charles County make... I applied for a job in LaPlata and it was going to be a paycut, but I knew there were advantages to this job... come to find out it was for an attorney position....:roflmao: so anything less than an attorney position I don't believe pays well at all "in the legal field" where you have experience. Take the trek to DC for a few years and save up would be my only suggestion or at least until you can think of a more lucrative stay at home job.

yeah, that definitely opens up your market...you'd probably need a digital camera though, to be able to display your crafts online.
