I think there was another one yesterday, too.
Young man pronounced dead in ER after drowning in Panama City Beach
They said they pulled the swimmer, believed to be in his early 20′s, out of the water and took him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A large group of us were down in Destin in April and you couldn't even be on the beaches because of the rip current. Last year 2 NFL players, Peyton Hillis and Ryan Mallet, were in the headlines for those beaches. Hillis almost died saving his kids and Mallet did die.

We actually don't have a "deadly beach", we have stupid tourons who go in the water when double-reds are flying and drown their dumbass selves. Big ol' crashing waves and they're all like, "Yeah, screw that, dis mah vacation!"
Also sharks. 4 million people and like 3 shark attacks - not bad odds. But this lady called the other day and said, "So I don't want to seem like a dummy but....are there sharks in the Gulf?"
Well, yeah, lady, there are sharks in the Gulf. Duh. Trying not to seem like a dummy didn't work out too well for you.
It's because they're stupid. Red flag warnings are clearly posted.

I can imagine your family avoids talking to you for just this reason.
I don't get all involved in all of the sadness that stupid people cause themselves
I feel bad for the family that they left behind because they were stupid. Or maybe a spouse. The fact that they would subject their family to that kind of thing shows that they don't really give a crap about anybody but themselves.
