It depends on whether or not they were truly negligent, if I had insurance. If I had no insurance, it put me out of work for a long time and basically was going to turn me into a homeless person, I would sue. But only if my parents were unwilling to help in any way and had no other option. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. :ohwell: Does that make me a bad person?

I would never sue my parents. :lmao: If I slipped on their icy driveway, that would be my fault, not theirs. Likewise for any other fall, short of one of them pushing me down the stairs.

Exactly, unless they pushed me down the stairs, like Nickel said.

If they did that, I figure I deserved it, but somebody has to pay the medical bill.

My best friend injured herself on our boat. She was mis-diagnosed at St. Mary's Hospital, then later treated for 8 broken ribs (months later). She saw a few lawyers and they all told her to sue us (owner of the boat). We told her to go ahead, that's what insurance is for. She wouldn't.

If you sue somebody who is ensured, you are really suing their insurance company. I would discuss it with my parents to let them know I was not after them, then sue for an amount that was appropriate, but did not exceed the amount that the insurance policy covered.

Yeah, but it will still make their rates go up. I wouldn't do it.

For 8 broken ribs, it would have been a pleasure to have her sue my insurance company. Poor thing was in pain for years.

:twitch:Good thing she didn't snap her neck. When you hit the water (brick wall) that fast you can flip anywhere.

Nope. But I hope mine don't get sued because my friends 3 y/o threw an empty can off the balcony at 10 floors up.

I saw it happening and I heard the Six Million Dollar Man music in my head as I ran and was in slow motion yelling NOOOO and it was gone.

I shut the doors after that and we had no knocks at the door. I think it landed in the pool.
