bottom line, smoking is rude and hazardous. You know it. In this area it is part of the culture, which is sad, but you are a dying breed. words and books never caused heart disease, cancer or emphysema. sure, saying the f word can and will get you killed in some cases, but it does not medically damage the person HEARING it. I am not trying to stop people from smoking, even though we all are footing the bill for millions of dollars in health care costs, I just want you to admit that it is what it is, a dangerous and hurtful product.

You say you aren't trying to stop anyone from smoking, but it sure seems that "YOU" want to "TELL" everyone what is or isn't good for them just as these nanny governments are doing. I'm jumping in at the end of this, but ... I'm a reformed smoker (worst kind) and I admit I hate the smell of smoke on my clothes, in my hair .... but I know when I go into a bar, that's the price I pay. If I don't want to be bothered with it I don't go. That's all there is to it. Or I go sommewhere else.
If you think for a minute, there are more people killed in this world by drunk drivers than by 2nd hand smoke, but you sure as hell don't see people trying to outlaw drinking!

It's my understanding that the fire in Solomons was caused by a cigarette, yes. It's also my understand that lightening strikes will cause fires. An electrical short can start a fire. Many things cause fires, so this is a useless argument. Fires happen.

Yeah, I know that fires can be started by many things. I'm just pointing out that a lot of smokers are careless by chucking their cigarette butts on the ground or out of car windows. It's not necessary and it's lazy.

...and most people don't special order their cars, they buy them off the lot. You think people will buy a blue car instead of the red one they want because it has the smokers package? You're making sound simpler than it is.
