You folks have some great firsts! Kizzy, you had a real day of firsts yesterday!
My first accident: 3 weeks after I got my license, hit a redneck in a pickup with my Cadillac in the rain.
My second and third accident: 3 weeks after I got my license, hit a redneck in a pickup with my Cadillac in the rain. (WET FOOT KEPT SLIPPING OF THE DANG BRAKE PEDAL AND HITTING THE GAS!!)
Dad coated EVERYTHING with Armor-All, including the pedals. Not good juju when wet.
My first job: Had a lawnmowing service. Mowed 4 or 5 houses and a 1/4-mile strewtch of parkway shoulder every week. Had bad hay fever and poor allergy medication...Mr. Primatene was my friend!!
First meal I cooked by myself: Beef Stew from scratch. Took a whole Sunday to cook it. It yielded so much (5 quarts) that I was knocking on neighbor's doors trying to give it away.
My first drunk: I don't recall, I was really drunk at the time.
My first puff on an illegal substance: Began an afternoon of getting totally blitzed on the shoreline of a local creek in 1971 when I was 13. Next door neighbor's kid provided it. After that, because of the many drugs, things were pretty much a blur until late 1978.
My first model kit: A SPAD XVIII biplane. Dad had to build most of it.
My first train set: O gauge American Flyer. It was a figure 8 layout on a piece of plywood. The set included a 4-4-2 Atlantic, an 0-4-0 switcher, and 4 - 6 cars of various descriptions.
