I don't see the recharge time as a big problem IF you can recharge at home. I don't think most folks don't drive over 100 miles a day. Average workday for me is about 25 miles if I run errands
How many hours a day is your car/bike sitting parked at either work or at home? Maybe extension cords at work could become employee perks

They already have parking spaces with outlets in CA...

I was thinking a fold-up solar panel for the bike, but that's probably unnecessary and probably wouldn't charge it significantly anyway.

A trailer with nothing but panels. Charge while you ride.

:howdy: OO! OO! I know! Put a generator in the trailer!!!

There was an electric car design a while back that had an optional trailer with a gas generator in it to turn the car into a hybrid.

I remember that. It had a moderate range on battery alone, so that was the solution for a long distance trip.

Most hotels in Maine have them also

... for block heaters

If those outlets were heavily used, and 220 to boot, then business would most likey start charging for thier usage. Right now, one car a day lugs in, they dont even notice the blip in the monthly bill.

However, when it makes a noticeable bump in the business bottom line, they will take notice. I envision something like parking meters, when you plug in, your VIN and its accompanying payment info gets logged, and you get charged appropriated.
