I know that. Only problem is that when they are "normal" length, they are only about as big around as a golf ball. Flowers don't die until they are about 12" long. Seeds don't form until over 12". They are still quite tasty being picked between 16" and 20". See my post from this morning.

Tried picking them earlier (smaller) and they were not ready yet. I think the biggest yet was 24" long.

Yes, similar to carrot cake. Very delicious! I hope to bake a couple of loaves this weekend. Garden also has loads of zucchini.

Hubby slices up the yellow crookneck squash and puts them in a microwaveable dish with butter/margerine, salt and pepper to taste. Makes its own water. Delicious!! I have tried the zucchini casseroles with tomato, etc., and haven't had much luck.
