IF LE knew virtually everyone in the neighborhood was well armed, I don’t think they would have any doubt about the status of any intruder into a home. Can you agree with that?

Of course I don't agree with that. Again, the intruder has surprise on their side. You're in the kitchen whipping up a batch of cookies, wife's having a nap n the couch, kids are playing video games.....when all of a sudden this guy kicks in your door. Do you have a gun on your person at all times when you're in your home, or is it stored somewhere? Even if it's in the nightstand by your bed, chances are good you're not going to get to it.

And just because someone *has* a gun doesn't mean they won't hesitate to use it, or not even think about using it. The element of surprise.

I find it insane the people are so willing to forego their rights for that kind of safety.

It was a stunning outrage, the woman in NOLA back during Katrina who refused to evacuate who was physically disarmed by the cops.

I have read what the op posted. Other than the editorial comments from the author, it does not provide any information from any person whos home was searched saying the police forced them to allow the home to be searched. Do you have information to the contrary?

There is no point, unless you can magically make every person in the US, or at least a decent majority of them, have the will to elect lawmakers who will uphold the Constitution and protect us against all enemies, foreign or domestic, as is their duty.

Because of the random opportunities to violate the rights of ground hogs, I'm never more than a few steps from at least a shotgun and, without fail, I still find opportunities where I would have had a chance to get one had I been actually carrying. And I'm the aggressor.

I shudder to think what it is like getting used to work in stores in bad neighborhoods where you are, effectively, the ground hog AND not ALLOWED to be armed.

If I could, I'd be armed all the time. Not much use for a gun if you don't have one when you need it. Given you never know when you're gonna need it, like a pocket knife, cell phone, given my druthers, I'd be armed all the time.

The story of that woman at the Luby's in Killeen in 1991, her gun 50 feet away, safe in the car because Luby's didn't allow exercise of the second amendment, who watcher her dad get murdered. How agonizing.
How many people die that day, 23? I get if Luby's allowed exercise of second amendment rights, 23 people wouldn't get killed in ALL the Luby's combined, over all time, by some hot head. In the mean time, there'd never be a robbery and there's be a lot of polite "Would you please pass the salt?"
