Keep going, folks! See if we can find some consensus to get behind!

Again, unless conservatives can come up with a message that resonates with a bunch of entitlement-hungry liberals nothing will change.

Or are you using us as your launching grounds for your campaign for governor. :jet:

1. Open the primaries. Allow voters to vote for whoever they please.

2. Make college education at MD public institutions more accessible (affordable).

3. Ban all state/local/municipal employee unions from campaigning, contributing to campaigns, lobbying or having any activities related to the elections for public office.

4. Increase the gas tax by a penny and remove all tolls.

5. Make the sales tax applicable to internet purchases. Reduce the sales tax to make it revenue neutral.

6. Make sure the new FBI headquarters are located in MD

Be friendly with all retiree's
stop with the wind farm
Use the money from the gas tax for the roads and nothing else.
Stop stealing from the various funds in the state
Fix the roads
New bridges for Solomons and the Nice Bridge
Another Bay Bridge.
Issue carry license for guns
Stop funding Casa De Maryland.
Lower the tolls on the Nice bridge (No reason a Bridge built in 1939, and a mile long should cost the same as the Bay Bridge 5 miles long)

I couldn't get elected to be boss in my own company.

I am trying to convince myself Larry Hogan has a shot at this AND that it will be good for the state if he wins. To that end, I am trying to identify what would be meaningful for him to pursue and would it be possible, if not probable, to get done AND be good for the state. Going to a fundraiser for him soon and, if I get the chance, I want to talk to him about something along those lines; how will you be judged a success?

I met Larry Hogan last week when he was in St. Mary's County, and I mean to help him get elected.

Setup an independent commission to draw Congressional and Legislative boundaries every 10 years.

That would require an amendment to the Maryland Constitution at least for the Legislative districts.

SEC. 5. Following each decennial census of the United States and after public hearings, the Governor shall prepare a plan setting forth the boundaries of the legislative districts for electing of the members of the Senate and the House of Delegates.

The Governor shall present the plan to the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Delegates who shall introduce the Governor's plan as a joint resolution to the General Assembly, not later than the first day of its regular session in the second year following every census, and the Governor may call a special session for the presentation of his plan prior to the regular session. The plan shall conform to Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Article. Following each decennial census the General Assembly may by joint resolution adopt a plan setting forth the boundaries of the legislative districts for the election of members of the Senate and the House of Delegates, which plan shall conform to Sections 2, 3 and 4 of this Article. If a plan has been adopted by the General Assembly by the 45th day after the opening of the regular session of the General Assembly in the second year following every census, the plan adopted by the General Assembly shall become law. If no plan has been adopted by the General Assembly for these purposes by the 45th day after the opening of the regular session of the General Assembly in the second year following every census, the Governor's plan presented to the General Assembly shall become law.
Won't matter much as it has to be approved by the General Assembly and Governor.

Larry - Looks like your consensus is lower taxes, gun rights, and immigration.

1) Independent audit of the "Save the Bay Fund"
2) Pass an amendment that makes it against the law to raid transportation funds to supplement the general
3) Roll back taxes (user fees ) and use casino money to fund teacher pensions instead of shifting it to the counties.

I'm not really sure about the amendment part. Your cite doesn't say how the Governor's plan is prepared... just that the Governor submits a plan. Right now the Governor selects a committee (of like-minded legislators and political donors) to come up with the plan.
