Robert Hur should be criminally charged for putting out this false information about the president. This is a national security issue.

CLIP: Diagnostic clip of Joe Biden after being prepared and propped up (5:03).

Doctor, please provide your differential diagnosis in the comments.

Seriously, watch the whole thing. It is morbidly fascinating, like watching a series of blooper clips of mixed-up football players tackling their own teammates, or getting disoriented and running the wrong way down the field. Scoffing democrat partisans will pooh-pooh this video and point to increasingly-rare moments of Biden clarity, which admittedly can sometimes happen during the exact same speech where the former Vice President forgets where he is or falls over a beanbag.

Dementia patients are well-known for having good days and bad days, good moments and bad moments. Just because Biden is occasionally lucid and seems like “his old self,” does not mean he is competent to do the most demanding job in the world.

Here’s a serious question. Would you let your grandmother drive in this condition? Of course not. You’d take away her driver’s license for her own protection. Sorry Nana. It’s better this way. Should someone who can’t safely drive his convertible Camaro down the street to Martha’s Vineyard Frozen Custard have access to the nuclear football?

Democrats will bark that these days you don’t elect a man, you elect a team. But if we are really electing Biden’s team, and not just him, then let us meet the team. The team should be running for President along with — or instead of — Joe Biden.

I’m sure they are terrific folks and would make the campaign proud. Aren’t you? Let’s get them out there. Somebody ask the media to do it … oh never mind. I guess we’ll have to do it ourselves.

New Revelation About Hur’s and Biden’s Discussion of Beau Biden Blows Lid off Bogus White House Spin

In an update to this story and in news that will surprise absolutely no one, it has been revealed that it in fact was not Robert Hur who "raised" the issue of Beau Biden's death.

It was Joe Biden himself:

But Hur never asked that question, according to two people familiar with Hur’s five-hour interview with the president over two days last October. It was the president, not Hur or his team, who first introduced Beau Biden’s death, they said.
Biden raised his son’s death after being asked about his workflow at a Virginia rental home from 2016 to 2018, the sources said, when a ghost writer was helping him write a memoir about losing Beau to brain cancer in 2015. Investigators had a 2017 recording showing that Biden had told the ghost writer he had found “classified stuff” in that home, the report says.
Biden began trying to recall that period by discussing what else was happening in his life, and it was at that point in the interview that he appeared confused about when Beau had died, the sources said. Biden got the date—May 30—correct, but not the year.

In other words, for the last near-week, we've been subjected to repeated tellings from The Usual Suspects about how it was not in Hur's purview to "ask" about Beau Biden's death, only to find out he never did.

We've written before about how Biden will bring up his son's death in order to try and show that he can "relate" to other families who have lost loved ones. But when he does tell the story he often lies about the circumstances, which is despicable and lends credence to the allegations that he is fudging the details for political gain.

But this is a new low for Biden, using his son's death in part to avoid having to account for, in an election year, the memory problems Hur noted in his report.

There's only one other reason Biden would make the false claim about Hur "raising" the issue, as explained by Townhall managing editor Spencer Brown:

So, Biden pretended to be indignant that the special counsel included a topic that Biden himself raised in his interview with the special counsel. Either that or he also forgot that he brought the subject of his son's death up in the conversation.

Regardless of the reason, it's a terrible look, and between that and the administration's reactions to the Beau Biden reference, it's just further proof that there is no low to which Team Biden will not stoop to drag him over the finish line one more time.

Gotta give his enablers and sympathetic media their talking points.

This changes things just a little:

President Joe Biden lashed out at Robert Hur last week over one particular line in the special counsel's report on his handling of classified documents: that Biden "did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died."
“How in the hell dare he raise that?” Biden told reporters in an impromptu White House press conference. “Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, it wasn’t any of their damn business.”
But Hur never asked that question, according to two people familiar with Hur’s five-hour interview with the president over two days last October. It was the president, not Hur or his team, who first introduced Beau Biden’s death, they said.

Biden stumbles toward the exit

None of us gets out of here alive, and 81-year-old Biden is not going to level out onto a plateau of acceptable lucidity. He is going to step down again and again until he reaches the cellar door.

The expectation that he will blunder repeatedly makes Biden’s public appearances hard to watch. Seeing him on TV is akin to watching a chimp clumsily handling a vase. Will he let it fall and break into a thousand pieces? And as John Stewart noted on the Daily Show this week, it’s the politico’s job to persuade the public that all is well. It’s not the public’s job to turn a blind eye to an alarming problem.

Democrats have temporarily seized on special counsel Robert Hur as a new bogeyman they can excoriate. His offense is to notice Biden’s failing functionality. Hur decided not to prosecute the president for improper handling of classified documents and told Attorney General Merrick Garland that this was because the jury might exculpate Biden for being “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

Angry Democrats know this explanation does Biden immense political harm as he seeks reelection in November. So they are blasting Hur for going further than a straightforward decision one way or the other. They say he should have avoided his dynamite obiter dicta. Typical of Hur’s frothed-up critics was journalist Molly Jong-Fast, who in her ignorance suggested the special counsel shouldn’t have commented because he was “not a neurologist” and “knows nothing about memory problems in any way.”

But Hur, as special counsel, is legally obliged to explain to the Department of Justice why a jury is unlikely to convict. His comments about Biden coming across as a chucklehead were not otiose, therefore, but required, and are central to the problem of who we have in the White House.

Special Counsel Robert Hur to Publicly Testify before Congress about Biden Documents Investigation

The special counsel said last week he would not recommend Biden face charges for his mishandling of classified documents after leaving the office of the vice presidency, though he found Biden “willfully retained” such materials.

“We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter,” Hur’s report reads. “We would conclude the same even if there was no policy against charging a sitting president. Our investigation uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified information after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.”

“These materials included (1) marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and (2) notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods. FBI agents recovered these materials from the garage, offices, and basement den in Mr. Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home,” the report added.

The report says investigators found Biden’s “memory was significantly limited” when they conducted interviews with the president. Even in recordings from 2017 of conversations between Biden and his ghostwriter, Mark Zwontizer, Biden was “often painfully slow, with Mr. Biden struggling to remember events and straining at times to read and relay his own notebook entries.”

Do I need to go any farther?

Trump made lots of mistakes, ,any he picked were referred to him and turned out to be less than smart, less than loyal, less than competent.
He came in cold and took advice, this time he will make better picks.
