On the other hand - it's entirely Christian to stand up for your rights. You don't have to just bend over and take it.Well, then you have to decide how faithful you really are. Is your faith enough to not participate, even peripherally, in a "sinful" ceremony, but not enough to believe that the Lord will provide? There have been many religious groups throughout history who were persecuted for their beliefs. Getting a fine isn't really along the same lines as having your first born son killed.
The apostle Paul was thrown in jail after being beaten without a trial. But Paul told them that he was a Roman citizen, and it was unlawful to do this.
The magistrates decided they would quietly rush him out of the city, because they could be in big trouble for beating and jailing a Roman citizen without benefit of a trial.
But Paul would have none of it. He told them they beat him publicly, let them ESCORT US out in full view of everyone. He knew his rights.
It's one thing to live in communist Romania - as Reverend Wurmbrand did, and was tortured for years, decades - for the sake of Christ.
It's quite another to live in a nation whose FIRST GUARANTEED RIGHT in the Bill of Rights is the much vaunted Freedom of Religion - and have it conveniently whisked away in a puff of liberal logic.
They have every right to fight for their right, because if rights are not fought for, there's no reason to believe that someone won't try to take them.
