10 ounce Budwiesers

10 oz. buds come up in a lot of threads. Usually in a derogatory way, tied to rednecks and SMIBs.

Pretty cool NPR piece on 10 ouncers.

There has to be something that happens, perhaps due to some weird pressure/volume interaction that makes the taste a tad different because regular 10 ounce drinkers can tell, right away.

We have 10oz Coorslight, Millerlight, Budlight and Ultra along with 10oz. Buds.

That's what I think, there has to be something, less air in the mix once int's canned, something has to be different

Same here. But when we go on vacations, or camping trips, once I run out of what I've brought, it's like - dammit, now I have to drink bottles

I'm sorry

I do deserve a little sympathy because I take some personal risk to drink "real beer"....when I'm at various racing and off-roading events we attend, glass is always forbidden. So I'm forced to pour my good-tasting craft and micro- beers in to empty swill-beer cans that my buds donate to me for that purpose. I just hope none of them ever come down with any really bad diseases and neglect to warn me about that..

10oz for some reason seem much smaller than just 2 oz less.

I would assume that due to FDA standards, both locations would have to be using only treated water, once the water is conditioned and goes through the RO system, it should pretty much be the same from either location. should be less than 10ppm dissolved solids with either one. At that rate, you would have to be pretty sensitive to taste a difference between them, even more so after it was used to make the beer.

On a side note, it takes about 5 gallons of water to produce 1 gallon of beer.

10 oz drinkers are VERY sensitive. I mean, how could you not be given the shear volume of 'testing' and taste development and reinforcement that comes from drinking beer 10oz at a time. :shrug:
