$15/hr minimum wage

I'd like to see this overlaid with % of women in the work force, the revolution started happening at the tim the divergence happened. Suddenly there was more available labor, of course with supply and demand jobs could pay less.

More or less for the class .....

Ordinary, regular, everyday, people are hugely disillusioned and angry today, [as evidenced by the frustrations vented 24/7 here] … they hearken back to the golden age of the mid-20’th century when a single wage earner could afford a good house, dignified working conditions, and education and upward mobility for his children…the company president made perhaps 10 times that of the shop floor worker and there was no such thing as a debt-leveraged sword of Damocles hanging over the entire economic edifice of the Nation, where anything and everything has been turned into an interest-bearing ‘financial instrument’. They can't get ahead because of the constant devaluing of the dollar.

Supply and demand side depressing wages wasn't because of women entering the workforce. Women had to enter the workforce to supplement household incomes due to the dollar losing it value just to maintain the family's standard of living. Which also meant that children weren't being raised by the parents, but by daycare centers, baby sitters, and public schools. It has now gotten to the point where even having both spouses working just doesn't cut it anymore, so, instead, families have to reduce their standard of living, going without many things they used to enjoy. And I'm not talking of extravagances.

You trying to tell me the cultural revolution that started in the mid 60s with birth control, women working outside the house, divorce etc was due to purchasing power and not because women wanted more than to be a housewife?

As I said I grew up in the 80s and most kids that had both parents in the household only had one that worked. There were a lot of divorced parents though.

Indeed, educated women are the most powerful economic force out there. Once they realized there is more to life than spreading their legs and dropping a crotch loaf 9 months later, they started to get some education and run chit in the real world.

My wife never worked outside the home until recently - mostly because we were corporate gypsies for 30 years, but mostly because kids need a parent at home full-time.

It's about time someone tell these broads that, "no you really CAN'T have it all. You are going to have start to make some choices."

Yup. While it might not be in totality the sole cause, weak monetary policy was the impetus getting more women into the workplace. Absolutely. It wasn't just a cultural revolution that pushed more women in the workforce, though it did foster some women to go things alone, sans a man. Since wages have been pretty much stagnated since 1971, adjusted for inflation, many married women indeed had to enter the workforce. Sad, but true.

Crotch Loaf, that should be your name. I think I'll refer to you with it from now on.

He doesn't really know who to hate. I think he just hates life. I almost feel sorry for him......
It always amazes me how many disgruntled people there are in this world! Allways frowning, pissed at the world and nothing is ever GOOD enough.
