if she was married, she wouldve been on national TV numerous times and they would have made sure they got her a house to live in and the kids college funds paid for as well as a steady supply of baby food, etc
That is because if they were married, they'd deserve it.

I was just making a point that if they were married atleast they were trying to be functional. I didn't see untill later that they are jobless. That is pathetic. Even special kids can work at Mcdonalds, c'mon!

You don't have to be married to be functional. It's not like marriage means much to most people now-a-days anyway.

Well it meant something to my parents that were together until the day my mum died. Dad never remarried. It will mean something to me as well.

This is so very wrong. Already on welfare and no job, and having more children. That is just plain stupid. Where do these kids get their brains? :banghead:

Not from the round thing on top of the shoulders...

Agreed it is wrng and the system supports them, as does the "feel sorry for them" community.

Guess they get more money for each kid....

Gee..life on mac and cheese....how delightful!! (not)

Folks on welfare should not be allowed to have more children until they become self supporting.

How do you propose to stop them?

Oops, sorry your pregnant and on welfare - sorry you are going to jail. Yep gets them self supporting.

or,

Okay, here's your welfare check and condoms- next time bring the used ones back so we can tell you are not trying to get pregnant.

oh, I know - forced abortions, better yet - forced sterlization.

Okay, everyone on welfare go get sterilized. But why stop at the lazy welfare reciepients. Lets expand the program to all the criminals in jail.
Next thing you know, you are in a bar fight, spend the night in jail and come out sterilized.

GTFOHWTBS.

You can still be irresponsible in a marriage. Having 7 kids when you and your husband aren't working is very foolish and a peice of paper saying your married doesn't warrant getting help from anyone imo.

I find that interesting. I thought it was more common than that. My grandmother had three sets. Interesting.

below is monthly food stamp amounts for the state of maryland

Household size Maximum Monthly Food Stamp Allotment
1 $155
2 $284
3 $408
4 $518
5 $615
6 $738
7 $816
8 $932
Each additional person +$117

so that family of 9 (seven kids 2 parents) would recieve 1049.00 a month in food stamps.

think about that amount for a minute 1049.00.... i spend 400 a month on my 4 kids and myself. sounds like us tax payers are the ones enjoying the mac and cheese life

On welfare. OK.

This is the amount you are qualified for, $XXX.XX.
That is the amount you will get.
If you have more children, you will get no more money.
At the end of one year; it ends unless you are in an education program and completing each course with at least a C.
If you are in an education program, the checks end three months after the conclusion of the course or in four years after your first check, which ever comes first.
If you fail a course, your checks end three months after the end of the course.
Good luck.
Be a success.

Actually, it would be very simple. Currently, they get a "raise" when they have another child. If you *lowered* their welfare check for each child, I'll bet you'd see fewer pregnancies.

Or just keep it the same. Welfare mommas use kids for cost of living increases.

all the "solutions" are HURTING the innocent children.

so much for "it takes a village to raise a child."

Everyones finding ways to punish the parents but in the end its the children who are hurting by not getting enough financial support.

If you can figure a way to punish the parent and still allow the child to get everything they need to grow up and be a healthy child, I'm all ears....

If they can't afford them, they lose them. Simple. Kids are better off being raised by someone responsible than someone that has genetic similiarities, but that can't even take care of themselves.

Good for y'all. Take a look around. Take a look at the divorce rate. Take a look at why people get divorced, then get back to me about how much marriage seems tomean to most people.

That phrase is as ignorant as the f**ktard that invented it. It's a lazy copout that says "It's okay to be irresponsible. Society will fix your problems for you."
