Yeah right, when was the last time you called someone a fiscal year? It's only simple when the message is clear, which your's wasn't. I could see it if he said to Leahy, "You sure are a fu## up". Who knows, maybe Cheney told Leahy to orally stimulate him? Or maybe to step off into the corner and partake in self-fornication? The article certainly didn't make that clear either.

Big deal. The Senate wasn't even in session, and Leahy is about the most anti-Cheney person in the chamber. He's been on Cheney's azz for one thing or another for at least two years, as far as I can remember. To approach and play nicey-nice with someone you've labelled a "war profiteer" is sheer chutzpah, and if they'd have allowed it in the Senate and I'd been VP, I'd have kicked his azz FIRST, and then told him off.

This would be like having Michael Moore greet Bush with a wet sloppy kiss.

For Leahy to then act shocked and offended is utterly juvenile. You don't excoriate and insult someone in public, oppose them the way he has and get to be polite face to face. That's just idiocy.

Same arguments were made concerning Kerry and the guy who enjoys making an a$$ of himself. So I guess neither side is immune to this behavior?

I don't go around repeating that story. Its only source is NewsMax, and without corroboration, it could be a load of crap.

My objection to the Kerry story wasn't that he flipped off a veteran (who WAS goading him). It was that he did it in front of a group of schoolchildren, and when that didn't go over well, starting calling the guy a felon.

Yeah, well, plus I don't like Kerry a whole lot either. I'll be honest about it. At the time, my shock wasn't the vulgarity, but that it was something I can't see George Bush doing. His pattern in the past is to joke about free speech or something.
