Have you read my post? I said these guys were wrong from the start. As far as hurting the public image of my department, I have never said where I work publicly. If the prosecutor sees fit to give these guys a deal such as this, then who are you or anyone else to disagree?

Why is it I can't have an opinon opposite of anyone else? Or of everyone else! Isn't that the very rule of this great nation of ours? Why not have diversity of opinions? Should we all agree about everything.

I never insult anyone until insulted. I have had plenty of people, including you disagree with me but I have never said a bad word to you.

In my real life, I could never give the opinion that I share here. I have to maintain a certain standard, no matter what is said to me. I get to come here and give my opinon and say what I will. Ok, for you I will change my name.

I recall you slipping up once in one form or another and stating where you work, but if I am correct in what I recall..I am not going to post it here because you work at a station with people I know and I wouldn't want to sully their name :yay:
oh, and it is the county I live in...which would sort of speak bad of the county as well

Well their sentence was:

A fine.
26 days of community service at a zoo.
And to give up their police certificates.

Don't see any justice there, at all.

has nothing to do with wishing you ill will

He is saying (and I am agreeing) that if you act the way you do on here, with someone in person...you better pray you have your badge on and gun handy or you will be on the wrong end of a serious ass-whoopin.

Just my opinion
See, that is where you are wrong. I don't NEED a badge and a gun to back me up in a situation where I disagree with somone. If I used my badge and gun in that manner, then I would be a despicable police officer. I would never abuse the authority entrusted to me in that manner. That would be for personal gain!

I wasn't wishing you 'ill will.'

I was alluding to the fact that maybe one day - the entitlement some officers feel because they carry a badge and a gun - will fail.

So, you're saying the officers should get some type of leniency because they made a mistake. How fortunate it was for them that it was a 'mistake.' Let's not forget that a little boy is dead because of this 'mistake.' Let's not forget that the parents of this little boy will never see him again because of this 'mistake.'

I would think that officers receive training in common sense when using firearms. You NEVER EVER fire a gun when you don't know what's down range. NEVER.
Offficers should never feel a sense of entitlement. I feel compassion for these people who went out and made a mistake. Not because they are police officers, but because they were people who were doing good!

Just the same as a couple of years ago, when a fire engine was racing to a call and blew a light. They killed someone and I felt compassion for the operator of the emergency vehicle. For in his zest to do good, his mistake had tragic results.

I morn the child, and feel bad it happened.

It's my opinion, (which I am entitled to) that the police officers shouldn't go to jail!
