I have to order a new rear tire. I just looked at the site. Holy crap. I had no idea motorcycle tires were $100 or more. :lmao:
Oh, and the price on SWMOTO is about $100 less then a local shop..

My first tire cost me >$300 from the dealer, it was also the last tire I bought at the dealer.

Oh, and don't forget to add about $45 to that price for a local shop to mount and balance the tire if you bring the tire and wheel off of the bike to them.

Add >$100 if you want them to take the tire off of the bike and replace it.
I already have that lined up at a very, very reasonable price. All I have to do it take him the new tire and tube and he'll take the old one off, put the new one on and balance it. He's my new favorite person.

Free shipping if you order more than one. DR can use a new one also.

Do you know how many miles you got out of it? I know you just bought the bike but do you have an idea?
It's not worn out, it's cracked on the sides from sitting around so much. I thought it would be good to get it replaced.

Sheetz has a new air pump that's computer controlled. Just set the pressure you want (I run 41psi on the bike) and plug up to the valve stem. The pump starts automaticly and beep beep beeps when the set pressure is reached. I've checked it with my digital gague and it was within 1/2 psi.

yeah, not a good sign.. but a good idea to get new.

I was wondering, I've heard mixed reviews on Dunlop. Some get great mileage and performance.. others say not so good. Of course it depends on the model of Dunlop too.

Some on the BMW boards talk about the Dunlops not giving them a secure feelig while riding. Changing from Dunlop made them feel like they were riding an entirely different bike.

I was lucky enough to go to the press launch for the RT and ST, and rode the same models back-to-back with different tires. I forget my exact conclusions but they're in the OTL from maybe April of 2005. The Pilot Roads were hands-down the best. I think I started off on an ST with Dunlops and really wasn't having fun. Partway through I switched to an ST with Michelins and it was night and day. When we swapped models midday, I made sure to get an RT with Michelins. Later in the afternoon one of the other guys was complaining about his RT so I talked him into swapping bikes. Same observation from him (Carrithers, Motorcyclist mag, I forget if he mentioned tires in the review but I sure did).

Just one note among many..

Tires are one of the heated, and long running discussions on the boards..

AND unlike other pumps, it will suck the air out of the tire if you are over pressure..

I was about 10 PSI over on my rear tire, it took it about 3 seconds to get it down to where it was supposed to be..
