Smallwood State Park is on an inlet of the Potomac River in Charles County. They have picnic tables and grills, boating, fishing and hiking.

I agree Gilbert Run is great. Playground, horse shoes, grills, fishing , paddleboats, etc.
Lots of stuff to do...I spent my mothers day there last year. Lots of fun.

This just makes me think of grilling at home. Mom prepares all the food, salad, sets table, takes food out to dad and grill, brings it in when it's done, cleans up after, then dad takes all the credit.

This just doesn't sound like a good Mothers Day gift.

I was at Gilbert Run years ago and the paddle boats were great fun. You can also rent a canoo if you are that daring. (scarry to me)

There was a fee last time I went but I can't remember how much.It was not per person,but per vehicle.It seems like it was less than $5.00.
