A good spot for a picnic

St. Inigoes Landing

St. Inigoes Landing (known to the locals at Kit's Point) at the very end of Beachville Road in St. Inigoes is a perfect place for a picnic. It's beautiful. It's clean and it's well maintained by Park & Rec. There's a big soft grassy area with lots of huge shade trees, a nice little beach, a boat ramp, a pavillion, a few picnic tables, a couple of grills and the best part is that it's kind of off the beaten path so it's rarely crowded.

We spend alot of time there in the summer. I can relax and read a good book in the sun and the kids can run around, jump off the little floating pier and swim etc.

We just had my daughters 13th b-day party there on Saturday and it was very very nice.

Oh heyyyyyyy...We should plan a forum barbecue/get together there sometime this summer! :yay: The Pavillion and grills are first come first serve, but I could do what I always do when we want the pavillion...go down the evening before and put an official looking reserved sign on it. :lmao: Works every time. :yay:

Greenwell State Park and the St. Mary's College area are breathtaking with the picturesque views they offer.

Point Lookout is also o.k. at times.

:smack: That place is reserved for us prominent residents of St. Inigoes. You start inviteing strangers and then they will start charging an entry Fee. besides Gilbert Run is a much nicer place for a Mothers Day outing

Calvert Cliffs is closed.. renovating or something
Calvert Cliffs is still open. It's just the main entrance that is closed. The open entrance is the parking lot for hunters. It's just north of the main entrance, right side of road (obviously) right by camp somethingorother rd. (it's just a grass parking area with a metal farm type gate at the road), just south of the frying pan (or something like that) resturant.

Word of warning. It's +/- 2 miles from the parking lot to the beach, with a couple really good hills in the middle. There are 2 picnic tables down by the beach. We were just there on Sunday w/ our kids and my parents. Water is warm enough to wade in, so I'd suggest you take a change of pants for any kids that are going so you do not have to carry the kids out like we did because they were too miserable in pants with soaking wet legs to walk.

Had a great time, I highly recommend it.

Oh please.

Ok Ok it was a little :offtopic: But I wasn't talking about JUST mothers day. Who wants to go to a park for mothers day anyway? A good husband would take all the kids to the park by himself and keep them out all day so mom could have some much needed peace. :yay:

And hit me again..I liked it.

I think she meant she goes down there to get high and throw back a few cold ones. JMO.
That is what we used to do down there. :lmao: Look at it this way, Kitt's Point is so far down the road, a lot of people won't even bother for fear of getting lost.
