Not only will they start charging....newcomers will not respect it and will leave all their trash around.....

You guys are such snobs. I'm a local gal who uses Kitts point almost everyday in the summer...I clean up after myself and my kids and would whether I was a local or not...just like I would anywhere else....doesn't make me special. Are you saying that all newcomers to the county are disrespectful slobs? Oh and the locals would NEVER leave their trash (or beercans) laying around would they? :sarcasm: Because your typical Ridge redneck is sooooooooo much more respectful than the newcomers are..

Newcomers have been coming to Kitt's point forever. Dougster...you've been here for a bit but to a local you're a newcomer yourself. Maybe y'alls so called "newcomers" don't come in droves...hell nobody goes there in droves because it's a tiny place in freaking St. Inigoes.

Sorry Ecphora...you're not allowed at Kitt's point. So scratch it off your list. :lmao:

Good grief. :ohwell:

Have you seen Elms lately? Or been there on the weekend???? Don't be :tantrum because I wanna keep nice local places just that -- nice and local......And as a local Ridge redneck, I resent that remark about being respectful..... . There are good and bad in every community! Not just Ridge...

Don't.

I used to enjoy days on the beach pretty much alone at Assateague State Park.

I started telling people, and they told people, and so on and so on.

If I went there today, I probably couldn't even find a sand dune to hide behind. :bawl:

I live just down the street from there and have heard it mentioned by name. I never knew there was a park there and can honestly say I've never driven down Beachville. :killingme

I grew up here, So I understand where all of you are coming from.

Trying to find somewhere to go for a day out is really hard here. Kitts point is really nice, like I said before all the times I have been there I have yet to see more than 2 or 3 people there.

There will always be azzholes that leave their s%it around, but there will always be people that will clean it up.

You cant hide anything around here, no matter how far back in BFE it is.

A few years back I tried to find some of the old places I used to go with my mom, I found them....Full of people!!!!

Years ago only locals knew about it. Watermen used the boat ramp, kids used to go and park and party.....but now it is being used more and more by 'newbies'. And I admit it - I get 'resentful' when, after a hard day at work, I go to take my Lab for a swim and to relax and I can't because of people fishing...I have tried Elms and Kits.. I liked it better when I was a kid and there weren't so many people here. Point Lookout used to be so much fun when I was a kid. We would all get on our bikes and ride down for a day in the park but now you are supposed to pay just to drive thru....it sucks. So now I feel selfish and sad....

I understand, My husband and I used to drive down to Point Lookout just to get out, but now its not even worth it. To be honest, when we just take a drive we put a dollar in it. Were not parking were just driving through.

My In Laws were up not too long ago, and we took them to Point Lookout because my first year at OBX with them I found a book about Haunted Lighthouses and Point Lookout is in the top 10. So we took them to see it. When we got there a huge storm came through so we sat in the cars. After it passed there were still a s%it load of people there. Its hard to enjoy it anymore it really is.

So how long do we have to live in the county to be considered local and earn the privilage of visiting our gov't supported parks & landings? Is there a timeline or tax payment schedule to go by so we can qualify ourselves? Or will that privilege only go to our offspring if they were born in the county? hmmmm

Seriously... nomo has devised a new way to make money... she now offers a picnic area for rental... you should PM her...:yay:

Good point here. I have lived here since 1989 and my kids were born here. In fact I've almost lived here longer than the 18yrs I was alive prior. Maybe we have to fill out an application and meet with the county commisioners first. :killingme

Today is the first time I ever knew it existed (thank you), but I think another forumite beat me to it.

There was a Bud Light can on the beach.:eyebrow:

You have to file with the proper authorities the offices are either at Toot's, Anderson's, or Buzzy's. If your kids were born here they are good to go. :lmao:
