I suppose you're right. It seems as if it's "Attack of the roadside memorials.":jameo: :jameo: :jameo:

God help our dear eye's! I wish I could live a life of torment in Ethiopia than be subjected to these wooden crosses which lay on the side of the road causing no harm to me.

I wonder what we'll complain about next, no Bennigan's.:duh:

They should put a pic and a memorial on each table.
Your sarcasm is lost on me (for this topic) I could care less about the memorials one way or the other...

It should. Everytime poeple go by her memorial I hope they think about how stuiped it was that a 25 year old had to lose her life because she ran a redlight because she was late to work.

The only thing that memorial indicates to me is that she was too flippin' stupid to drive, instead of messin' around with whatever distracted her.

What a lousy excuse for having an accident.

That is how I feel. It just doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

Well I am sorry about the loss of your friend and co-worker. Please just keep in mind though. The memories of the time we share with people will last longer than any object. A dear friend of mine died on 235 in March of 1999 in a car accident that was her fault. She was killed instantly and someone put out some memorial items in the days that followed. After her services though these items were removed and placed at her burial site or given to family and friends. I just don't neccesarily believe that because she is not buried here that the site of her death should become an everlasting public gravesite.

So you agree that it's a stupid thing to worry one's self over.

I'm not worried about it. If I ever lose someone, I won't place all their trash on the side of the road.

...ooh, that is a thought, though. I could just haul my trash to the side of the road, drop it off and stick a cross in front of it.

They are tacky, tasteless and crude. The dead deserve better, and the living should insist on it.

Well like I said I haven't been there since it happened almost 3 years ago and most of the people that worked there when she died don't work there anymore so I don't know who keeps it up. I'm sure one day it will come down.

Same here. I'm not going to lobby the government and spend painstaking hours writing to my Congressman and the like for something that clearly doesn't do any wrong to me either. I'd rather spend my time on something productive.

She wasn't messing around with anything. She was late for work so she ran a redlight.

My grandma died in the emergency room. I tried to put up a memorial for her, but those heartless bastards wouldn't let me.
