I was there also with the fire department. This call as well as the one on 235 last week took it's toll emotionally on more than one firefighter as well as I'm sure some EMS workers. You and I sometimes perform a tough service that others would rather flap their gums about instead of joining up with us and getting knee deep in it themselves. This business isn't for everyone....but we both sure could use a few more hands!
Thank you to the volunteers we have in the county. I too, was an EMT in the county for 17 years. I've seen some horrible stuff in my time, but I've also received gratificaiton from thankful families for saving their loved ones, and I've been on the receiving end where the wonderful volunteers saved the life of my loved one. It makes the bad stuff worth it, keep up the good work.

Don't let the gum flappers get to ya, they haven't walked in your shoes, and probably never will.

 Did someone knock the Rescue Squads and FD? They are awesome. I know how many people are affected when someone does something stupid, like this weekend. A little girl has no daddy, sons were lost and lots of hearts broken. Thank goodness we have great volunteers.

Nobody knocked the EMS/Fire! We did everything that could have been done. But as VOTER 2002 stated, it impacts us and then there are a BUNCH of losers who want to run their mouths and say this or that happened and none of them were even on the scene. Do you know in less then 24hrs I had gotten at least 5 calls with RUMORS of what happened to these boys. I think that people shouldn't make it worse then what it already was.
VOTER2002, you are right, we are some special people to be able to see and deal with the stuff that we have to deal with. It is not always easy. Sometimes things go the way we would like, other times like this, it just sucks. So my message for those who want to gossip, why don't you go fill out an application, get your training and run with Fire/EMS and see how much your lips flap when you roll up on a scene and was faced with the devastation that was presented. Bet ya would be real quiet then. For all the others, dont test fate, you might have been able to drink and drive and make it home once, but you might not be so lucky the next time. Be smart, tomorrow isn't promised and it is very sad when you sit down and think how people lost a son, brother, uncle, daddy all in one night. Thank you for all the supporters of Fire/EMS.

whoa no one on here has downed the ems/fd, everyone realizes what you all do for the community. Everyone has been touched in one way or another by your generosity of volunteering. BUT this is a public forum and people should not be censored in what they heard or saw.
Thanks again for providing a valuable service! :huggy:

So the rumor that they were drunk is true? Thanks. :yay:

Don't know what it is true. That is a rumor that I heard. I'll wait until there is something official before I believe anything.

I was looking at the pictures, that wreck looks terrible.
:yeahthat: The only good thing in that mess was that they didn't take out a family or other innocents travelling the same road. It could easily have been six dead instead of two.

Well don't you have a flair for the dramatic? :jameo:

Most of the "gum flapping" about local accidents normally come from you folks. I'm just waiting for the EMS pileup, racing each other home in order to be the first to post. :duh:

Dammit people...have everyone you know look at the pictures posted on thebaynet.com and bdvfd.org and help them realize the results of driving at a high rate of speed!!!!!!
Actually, that's the result of screwing up at a high rate of speed. I've heard 90mph as their estimated speed. That's 132 feet per second. On a good day, you might have a 3 second reaction time between when you recognize a problem and when you take corrective action. That's more than a football field. There are few places on Chancellors run where you can even see that far. Add a little booz or just be tired and the reaction time increases.
90 on the interstate is one thing, the roads are designed for high speed driving but our local two lane roads are no place for it.

Doing 90mph on Chancellors Run, especially as you are nearing Great Mills Rd, is NOT a good idea. There's a valley there and a swerving turn to the left, as you come up the opposite hill. You can't see squat, coming up that hill, and there is incoming traffic on the left. Besides that, Chancellors Run Rd is becoming more densly populated as each year goes by.

Get over it. They WERE drunk.I said I was thankful to have you. I only said going over 90 when I was told 100 mph. I know the people impacted over this. And it sucks. If you are begging for sympathy then you don't need to be volunteering. It's a thankless service and a bunch of us DID thank you. :duh:

The Intersection at the WAWA...two car accident.....the first time I drove by there was only one police officer on location..and the second time I drove back...there was an ambulance, 5 more police cars...blocking pratically the whole intersection. Looks like the one car rear-ended the other...the one car is totaled.. I personally didn't see anyone that looked hurt at first , but apparently there was. I hope everyone is ok :flowers:

I must have been right behind you. I drove through the intersection and there was only the cop on scene. We passed Hollywood heading towards the scene.

Was it the same young lady that gave them the keys to her car?

No, I was told about that also.... different young lady whose offspring this affects in a very direct and sad manner.
