You young people are strange. Back in my day, bachelorettes were women and bachelors were men. It wasn't co-ed - what's the point of that? Why not just say 'we're having a big party before we get married' and be done with it?

That said, what women would want to do the score, fart, belch, booze, thing with a bunch of guys? :twitch:

I just like to observe men in their natural state. It's amusing, and occassionally I like to mock (as I scratch my imaginary set of...)

Mig had it right way back there. It's about CLASS. Either you got it or ya don't. It's not hard to tell the difference!

Sometimes, it is. You can dress a pig up in pearls and pumps but that doesn't make the pig classy (no offense to your pot-belly friends, Christy).

There's a diff between between having class and being fake. If Athena is going to have a bad time out with the bachalerete party (because she doesn't know any of the girls besides the bride or she's afraid of catty-ness) and thus make the rest of the participants miserable (not saying you would do that Athena), then maybe she should go out wit da guys. If she's truely being honest with what she's reported about the bride and grooms feelings on the subject, then no harm no foul. But if she has an inkling that it might cause strife, maybe she shouldn't attend either one and perhaps just offer her services as DD. Where are you Athena? Haven't heard you pipe up in awhile.:bandit:

I am putting my .02 worth for what it is worth, but it is all about class. Because the bride is trying NOT to make waves right before the wedding, she wants her hubsand to be happy and she doesn't want to fight before the wedding. That whole thing can turn ugly really really quick.

I used to hang out with all guys, and we were just friends(when I was Athena's age). Once they got married because their wives saw me as a threat(who knows why because those guys well I could only handle them as friends) and they weren't allowed to see me anymore.

That is crazy. I mean I could see if you were a threat but if you were just friends??? Come on.

There are some women who cannot handle their husbands having friendships with women, but Katie, if this happened with multiple friends, as you seem to be saying, I have to ask, are you sure you weren't doing anvthing that could be misconstrued by you friends' wives?

You don't drop them but the relationship changes. My best guy friend doesn't come barging in my bedroom and drag my butt out of bed the way he did when I was single. We don't huddle over dinner until the wee hours like before. Larry doesn't meet his female friends for drinks like he used to.

We can say all we want that we don't care what people think but when your friends say, ":really: I saw your husband with Karen at Tauraso's last night", it causes a problem. Even if all they do is gossip behind your back, it's a problem.

Just the way it is. I didn't create the human race nor do I make the rules.

Although he doesn't like country music, ever since Sat. night he keeps singing that song "There's just something women like about a pickup man"

I do have other male friends who I have remained friends with AFTER they got married, but these two I used as an example. Well considering that the both of them are now getting divorced because of the wife's jealousy and control i seriously doubt it had ANYTHING to do with me.
