Aldi's parking lot

You mean to tell me the WW Development plan has been in place since the 70's and they still screwed it up. Cars were so much bigger in the 70's, you'd think they would have gotten it right.
What does that have to do with Aldis?
Though I will say most of the parking lots around here seem to be a cluster fvck.
Millison Plaza is a good exaple of screwed up.
Wildewood is weird because of the angled lot and the access land off 235 in the middle.

The real intelligence comes through in the landscaping. Putting trees on the end caps and having the lanes intersect at a greater than 90 angle.
A good example of that is First Colony. If you are coming out of the intersection by Burger King, the intersection is as the apex of the curve, you have to turn your head at a greater than 90 degree angle to see traffic and then you either have another vehicle blocking your view or a tree.
Same at Wildewood BLVD and the shopping center exit.

And I still haven't gone into one since. :jet:

I'm a Harris Teeter girl.
I've been in there, not impressed in the least. Actually turned off by some things.
Giant and Teeter for me.
Right now Giant's hours are better for me. I've been working late, so I can't go home, get changed and then run out to the store and hit Teets.
Not to be confused with Toots

Are Giant and Harris Teeter limiting the amount of customers?
Harris is by closing exactly at 8
Otherwise I would say neither have a door monitor.
The do have ARROWS on the floor.
IMHO pretty easy to follow the arrows, maybe a bit more of a walk.
But I know Giant well enough that I don't often have to backtrack.
If I do, I don't take my cart down the aisle in the wrong direction.
Some people do. Some people go shopping as an outing with others and block the aisle while they discuss their purchase.
Then get butt hurt when you get close to them. Sorry there slow mover, beep beep, coming thru.

I was in HT yesterday and didn't even notice the arrows. I did notice that if I got closer to someone they backed away. It's starting to make me feel a little self conscious.
That always happened for me. I was told that I could open a path through a Christmas crowd n the mall with the look on my face.

Millison is a gold standard for effed up parking. Sometimes I take the bike in there to check myself. :) Roger landscaping. BS.

Men have an RBF?

I call it CAF, Constant Asdh$% Face.

I know better, but still don't look at the floor for the arrows. It was pointed out to me today by someone.

Nicely or not so nicely? You feeling any better?

One of the managers, she was nice. She just pointed down to the arrow and I think she smiled under her mask. I'm feeling better, thanks. Hoping all the rain tomorrow will clear a lot of the pollen out.

Crud - It's raining tomorrow? I thought for certain I was going to lay out in the sun today - whole day slipped away from me and now I just want to put on my jammies and crawl under a blanket.

Calling for heavy rain. The sun was out here in the afternoon.

A person on the radio this morning said the grocery stores should put signs on the start of each aisle to show the way the arrow is pointing. Kinda like one way signs for streets.

Oh well - payday for me so I guess I could hit up the grocery liquor store since I can't do anything outside. You want to meet up this weekend - do lunch outside or something? I'm sick to death of staying in.

I'm tired of no social contact myself. Seems the only living thing I talk to in person now is Mr. Cat. If the weather is nice this weekend, I'm doing a "patio" visit to my daughters. I need to see the grandson and also want to check out the new grand dog. No clue if or what day.
I think if we stay the "social distance" from each other and don't cough or sneeze all over each other, we'll be fine to do an outside lunch or coffee somewhere. Sounds like a plan.

Sounds like your weekend is already booked - shoot for one day next week maybe? I've got those bird whatnots and quilts in my trunk and I thought I do a blueberry lemon cake and bring you half of it. I just need to get out so badly. Are we allowed to eat outside - I haven't really noticed anyone out - like sitting outside - seems like everyone I've seen is walking.

I don't know if I'm going Sat. or Sunday or if at all. I'll let you know.
I don't know if you're allowed to sit outside anywhere by a food establishment. I sort of doubt it. We need to check around.

Off topic: I have noticed recently that the Wal-Mart in both La Plata and Waldorf, as well as at least the Safeway in La Plata, have the one-way floor aisle markers. Safeway also has them outside by the tall brick divider nearby Target as well.

On topic: the Aldi parking lot in Brandywine could use a bit of a makeover. Hard to get in and out of there using the main way out, with all the traffic backup from Chick-fil-A nearby. The one in Waldorf isn't as bad though.

Something of note: I have been into Aldi's a few times myself, and while they do have somewhat reasonable prices, I don't really see much savings there compared to prices at Wal-Mart for example. Just one example would be their brand of 2-liter sodas. Unless their price went up, then as far as I know it's $0.69 at Aldi's, versus $0.72 at Wal-Mart. It's almost like the savings could be just a few pennies depending on what you're going for. Of course everyone's experiences will be different.

Yesterday was your birthday wasn't it? I'm up early so I sometimes start a birthday thread before others get up but I feel awkward about doing that if I haven't really talked to that person before so....belated birthday greetings I hope it was a good one. :bday:
Yes it was, and thank you 😊

They are on the floor in Giant and they alternate. Like streets in Philadelphia's grid pattern, alternate N/S (Numbered) E/W named with a few bi-directional (Market and Broad).
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Of course for regular shoppers, who pretty much know where the stuff is they want, it's not a big deal at all. Man shopping at it's best, if it isn't on the list, likely it's not in the cart. If the list is not in order, likely it's not in the cart.
Saves time,. saves money by not picking up impulse items. I also have a menu in my head, which dictates which "meats" and "produce" I will select.

I'm thinking poached Halibut with spinach and a whole grain blend. Use some ginger, garlic, lemon and soy sauce in the pouch with the fish and the greens.

People are doing this all over the place, it's not a big deal, my neighbors had XX people out in their driveway for a BYOcooler/lawnchair social. PrchJrkr came over to my place on Sunday to chew the fat for a few. I love my fam but I like to talk to other people too.
