If I may ...

Stopped by again today. Someone must have pissed off the parking lot design people because now there are those parking bumpers along the grass line where one could, instead of being blocked in, drive on the grass. Now you must back up if stuck.

That's messed up. But I'm not going to be going there anyway, so you all have fun.

I believe that will be a continuation of the parking lot when another structure is built on that lot. Next time you stop by, look at it. It's all curbs, the whole lot, just waiting for asphalt to be laid down. Maybe a 7-11 will be built there, gas station?

The shape of the lot suggests fast food. There's a Chik-Fil-A next to the one in Brandywine, but I guess it's hoping too much.

I checked out Adi's yesterday. As said before it's crazy. The only thing that excited me was the price of milk. The thing I liked the least was having to pay a quarter for a shopping cart. I won't be back.

Whelp, since I like Aldi I contacted corporate via the customer service link and shared the link to this thread. The phoned me the next day. Today the district manager called and thanked me for the information. He said the problem will temporarily be resolved by tomorrow. They are going to take out of few space at the ends fo the rows to make a complete loop. They now have plans to expand the lot.

He said the response to the store has been greater than projected and they are happy with their reception in southern Maryland.

I am happy with the store. Unlike others our family rarely eats canned goods; a number of cans of three-bean salad and beets that we spruce up and serve during our summer weekly crab feats. The rest of our diet is fresh food.

That being said, notice the sale items this week at Aldi:

3# Sweet Potatoes for .99
Celery .69
10# Potatoes 1.49
3# Yellow Onions .69
12oz bag Cranberries .89
# Green Grapes .88
5# (not 4) Flour .99
5# (not 4) Sugar 1.49

What's not to like?

Edit to add: the Manchego cheese is great!

 but that's all snack food!

Hey, thanks Popster! I figured word would get around to district managers eventually. Sounds like it was just a temporary solution until something gets built next door and their lots are connected anyways. :yay:

I love Prosciutto Panino, but their brand "Specially Selected" is not very good.

If you take your cart back to the cart park, and slot the bar on the chain of the cart in front into the slot of your cart ......hey Presto you get your quarter back. $imples!

OMG did you not know the quarter was just a deposit?

It is a pretty smart idea, if someone doesn't bother to get their quarter back you know someone else will do it for a quarter.

Damn straight skippy, four quarters to a dollar. I take carts back now just to be a good neighbor, that 25 cents would be a bonus.

I just got back from aldi, someone returned their cart without putting the chain in about 4-5 carts into the stack, I got their quarter :D

Somebody just GAVE me their cart the other day - I guess it was worth the quarter to them to not have to walk it back.

Well someone there heard us, because they painted over the last two sets of parking spaces to allow a path around the parked car. There's now an arrow painted on the old set of spaces indicating you can drive through the area.

Of course - when I was there yesterday, there were two cars parked right in front of the spots ANYWAY. Between the time I went into the store and came out again, two people had now parked in an area re-purposed to allow through traffic. I guess you just can't fix stupid.

Ah, yes, the "special" ones, too special to actually follow the rules. "What, walk another 20 feet? Bah, that's for you lower classes, me, I do what I please.... "

I was just there today, from an angle it still looks like those are parking spaces but nobody was occupying them at 3 PM, but someone ignored the do not enter sign and came into it the wrong way.
