Local Business Ale House (Lexington Park)

Power with Control
Was in there this afternoon, the place was slammed. It was impossible to get a draft at the bar and it wasn't that we were invisible.
The system was stressed and there was a lack of communication.
Not a good selection of beer, a Great selection on tap. Sorry, didn't see any "lite" beers on the tap.
Food was coming out of the kitchen, looked good, people seem to like it.

True, great is a better word than good. There was a mixup on our order, after 25 minutes, and a few apologies from the waitress, a lady who appeared to be in charge stopped by, asked what we were having and disappeared. Not long after, I got my salmon. but my wifes chicken wrap did not. Mine which looked to have set a while waiting for hers. Mine was still great tasting. But even though I waited a while after it got there, the waitress appeared and told us she was sorry, but my wifes food had been cooked but they had not cooked it the way it was requested, with no tomatoes,so it was being redone. They ended up taking that of the bill since it was close to an hour after sitting down before my wife got her food.

So, impressed with the food and the staff that interacted with us were great. I felt bad for the waitress, having to apologize repeatedly for things out of her control. They do need to step up the timing and kitchen game, though. We will be going back, though.

You're welcome. I hope you both enjoy.

:yay: I didn't ask names.

Me and the GF went on Friday. No waiting. I guess most folks were out doing Christmas shopping. I had the Meatball Parmigiana. Very good meatballs in sauce with melted cheese in this mini sized iron skillet with bread slices around the outside. Everyone seemed organized. Our server, Tory, was the best. Only thing was that not all menu items were available but Troy advised us of that at the beginning so we would decide on something only to find it wasn't available. We will definitely be back.

We were there for lunch on Friday, too. I had the chicken pot pie and he had the Chicken Souvlaki Pita. He's Greek and he said it wasn't bad at all, but it needed more lemon. I gave him mine from my tea and that helped.

The meatballs are HUGE! Glad you enjoyed.

Happy to see good reviews coming in. We'll be giving them a try real soon.

:yay:

I know I will be back, I want to try the Shepherds Pie. They have been out of it the two times I have been there. Very popular item!

Listen... I really hope the place takes off and they do great! They seem to have all the key ingredients for success in SoMD. Alcohol, beef, and alcohol :lmao:

I bet you're more fun to go out to dinner with than Tabasco undershorts...

Of course it's a slow poke, it's on four jackstands right now, don't make me slap on a blower sooner than I expected, boy :) BayDawgs is indeed good, but not seasoned salmon on a plank good.

Well, there's work, and other things take priority, like new pads on the wifes Jeep, oil filter housing gasket on the beater E46. Oh, and building an HTPC. Sorry your taste for good food is so stunted..... must be all those trips to Vegas and buffet eating :)

Went to Ale House for lunch again today and had the meatball appetizer which was very good. They need to get their beer orders in hand though. Out of the 30 taps available, only 18 were tapped. They are running out and don't have space for back up kegs (I assume) so timing of the orders is going to be bigly yuge.

Too bad SoMD diners have an attention span of about 1 month.

Most people go "out to eat" for 2 reasons

1) The food is good at the particular establishment

2) They just don't want to cook and clean at home

I'm guessing most around here fall under #2. Otherwise, these places wouldn't be packed every single day.

Agreed...we have been so surprised at what appears to be a high percentage of folks who do not eat at home.

or they don't know any better. (option 3).

If you've lived here for more than 20 years you probably think it's the golden age of restaurants.

I remember seeing the "Best of St. Mary's County" list in the Enterprise around 96-97.
As voted by the people, most romantic dining spot in St. Mary's was the Western Steer (now the WaWa at 235 / 4)
