It's never a matter of "if"... Just "when"....

You all went :offtopic:

Pixie, isn't there some kind of federal program that provides health insurance to kids up to a certain age? Granted, I'm not one who likes to take advantage of federal programs, but if it's there, it's an option to look into.

I have a friend who I think has it for her 4 year old daughter.

I'm sure there is and I probably should take advantage because God knows I've paid my taxes.... But honestly I feel it's beneath me. :ohwell:

I can understand that...
When I was unemployed awhile back, I tried to file for unemployment. I figured I had paid into it, but regardless, I was really embarrassed to be there and I personally felt a sense of shame. But I was broke... and I had bills that wouldn't stop coming.

The funny thing is... I didn't qualify. They said because I had worked for a university the previous year, I didn't pay into it. I couldn't help but wonder about all the other years I didn't work for the university, but I guess they didn't count.

Oh well... I somehow managed to get through it, and by the time I got a job, I had about $4K in credit card debt.

I have grown increasingly frustrated with my job too. I am tired of working for lazy, do nothing people, who act as if the whole world is failing in, so you pitch in and help them only to seem them an hour later with their feet up on their desk chatting with co-workers or talking on the phone. I want a job that relies only on my ability to get my job done, not a job that punts everything to me because others cannot get off their lazy azzes and get their job done, if that makes sense. I have heard at least 1000 times in the past 3 years that this is being assigned to you to do because we know you’ll get it done. I didn’t go to college to be a pawn for a bunch of incompetent, lazy people who just don’t want to do their job. After the weekend, I come in and see my desk and mailbox piled high with stuff to be done and look at the 5 or 6 pieces of unimportant papers in my co-workers mailboxes.

Anyway, I’ve complained enough, so now I feel much better. Pixie, you can follow your dream, so do it. You don’t have a mortgage holding you down. You don’t want to settle for a job that makes you unhappy, because it will only get worse. You will always wish you found a way out. My anger with my job was the motivating force for me to go and get my B.S. degree and find another job, hopefully something that I’ll enjoy doing that gets me as far away from what I’m doing now.
