My question is, am I nuts to leave something I have done for so long it has become second nature for something new and completely unknown to me??

Change allows you to grow your skill sets and gives you breadth of experience. Plus it is nice to have a clean slate to start with. Good luck in your new position. Edit: just noticed the post was from 2017 but change is still good.
