Ambien?

Responded to a 911 call for a disoriented person, found a 40'ish female sitting in her car off the road out in the country. She had left her home in the city (40 miles away) to go to the local ice cream store 5 mins. from her home. We were able to contact her family; her husband and son came to pick her up. The only change in her medical history was she had recently started taking Ambien. She was properly dressed and compliant-no laws were broken; she was released to her family. She had no idea how she got to where she was.

That kind of stuff is in the side effects. I will not take that crap, I'll stay awake always before taking anything like that.

Does anyone have any experience using Ambien?

Ambien gives me night-terrors and mild hallucinations.

The waking hallucinations are mildly amusing in retrospect (I thought people on TV were controlling my physical movements, and Stan Smith from American Dad and I got into a staring contest), but they're somewhat unsettling while they are actually happening.

The night-terrors I don't even want to think about. I still get freaked out if I reflect on them.

That sucks. Really.

No kidding.

Does anyone have any experience using Ambien? My doctor prescribed it to me and I took it for the first time last night...5mg.

My kids were in bed and my husband was in class so I was alone... within 20 minutes I was hallucinating.:cds:

My husband came home an hour later and I was still all :jameo: "The British are coming!!! The British are coming!!!" :jameo:

I kept seeing people and animals that weren't there. My husband wanted to take me to the hospital but I was terrified to get into a car.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? wtfo

I tried it when I told the Doc I was having trouble sleeping a couple years ago. It helped me sleep, but I had stupid dreams, probably because I was sleeping, So I quit. Now just get used to going to bed early, waking up a lot and going back to sleep. Still have stupid dreams though. Oh well, guess I can't have smart ones.

The melatonin gives you very vivid dreams, I guess because you sleep so deep.

I'm on Wellbutrin... Wellbutrin + Alcohol = High risk for seizures

No alcohol for me :ohwell:

Oh man, thats rough. Have you tried Lunesta? A co-worker uses it and she says she sleeps better and no side effects. Maybe give it a try, but imho, I would stay away from the Ambien. Good luck, I know how it is when you cant sleep.
