Another 98.3 DJ going down in a blaze of glory

Moose mentioned this morning that he was being fired. I wish him well, he's my neighbor and I hope he lands quickly on his feet.
Who are 98.3 going to bring in now to be fired, Ron and Fez? Opie and Anthony?

bye bye 98.3

I heard that! He was very humble about it too, I would have been a jerk! God bless you Moose and your wife and 9 year old baby girl. Star 98 gone forever on my dial!

WTF?!?

SOMAR SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to get the "listen online" link from star983.com to work after reading this tread. I am getting an error message. Does it work for anybody else?

I heard that this morning as well. Did they just buy a house? What is it with SOMAR getting rid of all the decent DJs? He sounded like a really nice guy too.

Musical D'Js. and Formats

What is really going on with the station? How many D.J.s have they gone through since T-Bone and Heather? I thought Moose and Mike were about the best of the lot since the new hunt for D.J.s began. I also got an error message when trying the STAR listening site on teh web. It's really getting deprssing not having a good station/D.J. moring show that you can count on to exist Monday morning. Bad as Z104 changing to classical format last year and firing Mathew Blades and his crew. I think that station is on its 3rd or 4th format change since then too.

Best of luck Moose and to your family. This is a loss to Southern Maryland.
I find it depressing to even think about 98.3 anymore--always wondering how long the DJ's are going to be around....Good bye 98.3. I can't take any more of these firings...There are happier channels around.

I heard him this morning too, and thought he was exceptionally gracious about it. While I don't listen to much music on the trip in the morning anymore - their sacking of yet ANOTHER DJ strikes me as yet another reason not to listen to their station - because I'm never going to have any idea what the hell I'm going to hear when I tune them in.

As there have been so many firings recently I wonder if it is the owner that has the problem or is it the DJ's that are the problem? Either way we know who has the final say. Maybe one of the recently unemployed could give us a hint at what is happening.

Once Moose is gone, 98.3 is gone from my dial too! I ONLY started listening to 98.3 because I liked his show. In fact, once he signs off in the morning, I turn the dial. I don't even like this kind of music, but listen for his show. He brings life and personality to the radio.

Yes, I guess you could say I'm a Moose groupie and I haven't even met the guy!

Best wishes to Moose and his family. I'm sure there is something better out there for him and he :flowers: deserves much better treatment than this!

That guy is hard to work for. I remember when Moondoggie was on here and said something like, when he was being wooed by the station, they promised him a job for life, write his own ticket, etc, etc... A couple months later he was unemployed.

I really enjoyed it when it was Moose and Mike and then when it came down to one DJ it seemed like there was a bit of floundering intially but he seemed to bounce back and talk about cool stuff. I especially liked the way he hung on to alot of the west coast slang like calling the interstates by their individual numbers. Bummer that he has a family and home and now no job. Whats up with thoes knuckeheads at that station?

Has anyone heard from T-Bone and Heather? I miss those guys. Made the drive from waldorf just a bit more bearable.

I started listening when Moose and Mike came on. I enjoyed it even more with just Moose, I think he was the better DJ. I'll be changing the dial now too!

Moose, I'm gonna miss you! 98.3 better get their ducks in a row, they won't have any listeners left.

Add me to the list of folks that is cranky about 98.3 shoving another DJ out the door. I liked Moose and Mike. I liked just Moose.

And I'm really not liking 98.3 right now.

I preferred the old format under T-Bone and Heather - not often you get to hear Mac the Knife on the radio. With Moose at the helm, it was bearable being dragged into more modern music. ;)

With Moose gone, I'd rather listen to internet radio, the station from Fredricksburg, my CDs... anything but 98.3

If you call the office phone (301-884-5550) listed on the website and choose "Business Office", the fellow that answers the phone will put you into the station manager's voice mail.

Just in case you want to leave a little more direct feedback. :)
