Silence!!! I Kill You!!!

How sad!!! I say build a metal fence on top of that bridge like a lot of bridges have. It sounds expensive, but consider how much money all of those search and rescue deals cost. Maybe that'll curb this "trend". I get the creeps everytime I drive across that bridge. How awful.

Instead of a fence, lets put up a sign that says "Jumping from bridge does not guarentee death, the water is cold and may contain jelly fish. So stop being a failure, get off the bridge, start being considerate of others, and do something with your life!" :buttkick:

The jumper was a female from Hughesville. She taped her drivers license and emergency names and numbers on her dash before she jumped.

Now the pieces are coming together, I heard as I was waking up this morning on the scanner Calvert dispatching a call for Solomons along with the dive team, but didnot hear where it was, first thought was another jumper.
Then I heard Charles County Sheriffs Dept. put out a call in Hughesville for officer to go by and check out something at a home there, must have been the jumpers home.

Waste of money, and too many people would b!tch about the traffic during construction. The jumpers would just find another way to kill themselves anyhow.

Does the 301 bridge get many jumpers?

So, what you're saying is it's your fault they're jumping....You better get busy on some cookies.
I bake every other weekend - them fools need to learn my schedule. Besides I am currently working on perfecting carrot cake. :drama:

Didn't they have one last summer?

Someone jumped off the Potomac River Bridge a couple weeks ago...as a matter of fact, it was a few days after the last person jumped off the Solomons Bridge. :howdy: :IbelieveIcanfly:

One of these days someone is going to jump off and hit a boat full of people!!!

That’s when I have problems with suicides! I don’t care if you take your own life, but when you jeopardize other people’s lives in the process, it gets my Irish up!

I dont think we need a fence at the top of the bridge, I say put up a diving board. Maybe get s couple of swan dives going on.

Why? so that the next time somebody wants to do this they think "I can't jump off the bridge, so I'll just run head on into a school bus at 90 MPH." Or they could do like the guys in Atlanta and let the rescue workers be exposed to quarts of AIDS infested blood.

The bridge isn't causing people to jump. It's just the method they choose. Fix the people, not the bridge.

Suicide is pretty common, we just don't usually hear about it unless it is spectacular.
