I got curious and turned it on at work. I've heard songs from the 60s on up. Some I like some I don't. Not too many commercials. Might as well pass on the news.
Um, it doesn't start till next week.......

I heard a 3 person something or another going on the radio this morning, and it sucked worse than usual. I wonder if T and Heather are sitting somewhere laughing about how bad radio got around here in such a short time. I know if I was them, Id be feeling pretty important right now. And yea, I miss them. See ya, moondog

Heard an ad today saying the new hosts will be Dawn and Boomer, I guess 98.3 will be going back to the way it was. Hmm, maybe it was Don and Bloomer.

Remember a couple of weeks ago, moondog made a big deal about a new poster reporting that the station was changing formats and he was moving to 97.7. Moondog said it was not true and making a big deal about how the poster was new. Guess it was true.

:lalala: Guess he didnt want to hear the truth! By the way telling people they suck for speaking their mind, is burden you must take when you are in the limelight.

MoonDog...

Wasn't my intention to sound negative, in fact, I was hoping for success for you and the new format. However, the music wasn't what I expected, or prefer to listen to :ohwell:

You appear to be a person with wide musical tastes, and I have to wonder how much of what you played was dictated by the station, and not your choice...

Good luck with the new gig, and keep on truckin :peace:

97.7 was the only station left worth listening to. The parent company is going to have everyone pissed enough to go XM.

I liked the promo that said "After months of planning, our new format..." about 2 weeks after Assbone and Feather left... :ohwell:

Since Robertson and Smolinski say they will never sell their stations, I wish they would do something to reach out to the local community. How many years did it take them to finally do the right thing and add power generators to the stations? (Hint: Hurricane Isabel.) They're successful businessmen. But radio stations are unique in that they use the public airwaves owned by all citizens.

I like the changes, but I wish there would be a renewed focus on community in the process.

I think the format change and personality change is what made it tough for Moondog. Good luck to him on the new station, I hope he is has success there. I hope the new morning show will take callers. That is always a lot fun to listen to. So what happens to the guy on 97.7 now(Bryan)where does he go?

OK..let's just say this..I hear you ALL..GOOD or BAD. Boomer and Dawn will give the community what most seem to want "A talk like" station, the new 97.7 will deliver the MUSIC I think most from 15-50 want, Modern Rock/Alternative This is not ment to hurt feelings or make anyone hate me any more than some do.

As far as the big deal with the post that I had removed, it was WRONG, well KINDA wrong. I wanted to wait till everything was almost ready before we announced the changes and I had to make sure nothing written would be false. So, with this in mind, I find myself here at the station on a Sunday getting ready for the start of 97-7 The Rocket, Southern Maryland's New Rock Alternative. PLEASE, if anyone does have a comment, or a question please PM me, and I wil do my best to answer any and every question. We are in this as a community, and I really love Southern Maryland, and ALL it's People. We might not see eye to eye on all levels, but we are Humans. Love and Compassion must be a part of our everyday journey..with out it we will act like we are all from Canada. :howdy:

Have you guys thought of acquiring a scanner of the local police/fire departments and providing near realtime information as to road closures and other events that impact the citizens? The current practice of giving days old news over and over is of little to no value after you've heard it five or six times.
