Are Roman Catholics Our Brothers in Christ?

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I'M SAYING THIS...I agree with IS. (On this one point anyway.)

Knowledge of the seen can lead to faith in the unseen, and our faith in the unseen can lead us to further knowledge of the seen. Ergo, they work together.

I think I'm going to faint from shock now.
I knew you'd come around

The "seen" can also include the written word. TG cannot "see" because he chose not to "see" spiritual things. They cannot be seen by carnal eyes.

But there's only one way to Heaven...

Again, so say you and your religion and beliefs.

I certainly hope you spend eternity shocked and appalled at having to spend the hereafter with all those "other" religions hanging out in heaven. Cause if it turns out to be one god for all, I think you're in for a surprise.

So you are telling me that your concept is the only way? Your way being that any and all ways lead to God? Didn't you just say we shouldn't do that?

And what if I'm right? Your statement will be turned right back on you.

THIS ^^

The idea of pluralistic relativism or a totally inclusive belief is itself exclusive and a paradox.

No, nowhere in my statement could you possibly come to that conclusion. Your way may indeed be right, who knows? Unless you've died and come back, no much way of any of us knowing for sure.

You're happy and confident in your way, I'm happy and confident in mine. I'm not fighting you, quit trying to pick one.

Go in peace in your way.

Sure I could: "...Spending eternity shocked and appalled" sounds like what you think will happen to me. (Of course I know better) :howdy:

And, fyi, Jesus Christ DID die and come back and told us what is waiting for us on the other side. This is why people need to get serious about this before Obama gets re-elected and banns Christianity...

Friend, don't take our posts as picking a fight. Nowhere is it intended as such. What we are trying to point out is that even when somebody claims that all paths are true, that it is logically impossible.

So, to make any assertion of truth at all is to say that those who disagree with that assertion are wrong. It's a self-defeating argument.

I like what philosopher William Lane Craig writes about a similar situation (one that I encountered recently with a poster who will remain unnamed).

When one examines the arguments on behalf of pluralism, one finds many of them to be almost textbook examples of logical fallacies. For example, it is frequently asserted that it is arrogant and immoral to hold to any doctrine of religious particularism because one must then regard all persons who disagree with one's own religion as mistaken. This appears to be a textbook example of the logical fallacy known as argument ad hominem, which is trying to invalidate a position by attacking the character of those who hold to it. This is a fallacy because the truth of a position is independent of the moral qualities of those who believe it. Even if all Christian particularists were arrogant and immoral, that would do nothing to prove that their view is false. Not only that, but why think that arrogance and immorality are necessary conditions of being a particularist. Suppose I’ve done all I can to discover the religious truth about reality and I’m convinced that Christianity is true and so I humbly embrace Christian faith as an undeserved gift of God. Am I therefore arrogant and immoral for believing what I sincerely think is true? Finally, and even more fundamentally, this objection is a double-edged sword. For the pluralist also believes that his view is right and that all those adherents to particularistic religious traditions are wrong. Therefore, if holding to a view which many others disagree with means you’re arrogant and immoral, then the pluralist himself would be convicted of arrogance and immorality.

If ignorance is bliss, you must be the happiest man in the world.

Hi,
So please educate me on the Mormons, after all I only have the teachings the Mormon church put out by them saying what their beliefs are.

As to happiness I am ecstatic as I have a Bible that is historically accurate, the most manuscripts of any book of antiquity, and prophecy that actually came true something Joseph Smith didn't have.

In the Old testament if the words of a prophet didn't come true that was an indication of a false prophet and he was to be stoned to death for claiming to speak for God when he wasn't.

Deu 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.'

Funny Mormons have this verse in their Bible?

They also have the verses on how to test for a prophet
Deu 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.'
Deu 18:21 And if you say in your heart, 'How may we know the word that the LORD has not spoken?'--
Deu 18:22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

I shared this with my Mormon missionary friends and the numerous prophecies Joe may that never came true and ask them if they believed the Mormon Bible and God, or Joe.
I also shared with them Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
