So thinking for yourself is only a liberal trait?

:yeahthat: Does everyone else still believe in what their parents believed? Probably not.

Dear Kain,

Step away from the 10 oz, and your forum obsession and talk to your daughter, instead of spewing off to her like a redneck retard. :duh:

Kain...

...kids are in a position of being told everything. Ask her why she feels that way. Just let her explain how she put her opinion together.

I had a 10th grade civics teacher who promised to show us squabs how we, the US, started the war with Japan. It was an argument, a line of thought and in and of itself it makes sense just as many things make sense when context is excluded.

If you remove Japans viciously racist war against China and Japans long term build up and clear regional imperialist ambitions
then it is fairly simple to say we MADE them attack us because WE didn't honor our trade argeements with them. (We cut off exports of steel and oil to them).

Iraq is the same thing. If your daughter is focused on some particulars that make us look bad, the jail, perhaps a school age kid killed by a bomb, then it's simple to make us look bad in whole.

She'll need to reasearch Iraq, along with Japan, before our involvement if she expects her opinions to be given respect.

Just ask her why.

Interesting notion BL, but your youth is showing. I don't mean that in a negative way. My experience is that most people believe as their parents do until their teens, then they check everything out and form their own opinions (rebel to some extent because they don't want to be like their parents).

Eventually most people find that the older they get, the smarter their parents are after all. Mostly after life's experiences grind away at some of the concepts programmed into them by others such as schools and the media. Watch out, BL. You're probably set up to become alot like your dad over time.

Spoiled,
It is wonderful that you have joined the American process of voting and free speech. Just check when you are using your freedom to write and use spellcheck.

A child being stupid...

...is no cause to be happy they have a 'mind of their own'.

Learning from their mistakes is good.

A kid can call a dog a cat all they want to and 'have a mind of their own'.

It's still a dog.

If I would have said that to my father he would have knocked me out. He served on the USS Idaho in the Pacific during WWII and was at all the major battles, i.e. Okinawa, Iwo Jima, etc. Oh, by the way, he's a Democrat. Guess even parents aren't perfect. Don't worry Kain, she's a teenager, she'll eventually find out that her parents were right all along.

I've always prided myself on being a really good Mom... But I now realize I have failed beyond all imagination.

Tonight, we watched Pearl Harbor (again) My daughter looked up at me and said God must hate this Country.

I was like WTF? She said, "We killed so many and we have no business in Iraq."

I am so stunned and so furious that she will be lucky if I don't rip her hair out by it's little blonde roots!

I said Rachel, Who in the He!! made you think all of this? Her answer... "Everyone in the world except you."

I understand the whole rebellion thing but My God! :frown:

Her beliefs don't make YOU a bad mom. But wanting to "rip her hair out by it's [sic] little bonde roots" just might.

That's fine, except for they're not her own thoughts. They're some idiotic liberal psychotic mantra that she picked up somewhere. How you can tell is it's not based on any fact or history - the key signs of liberal brainwashing.

Why don't you go clean your room or something and let the grown-ups talk, hmmm?

Funny, seeing how this thread was about her daughter not having the same thoughts as her.

Kids are retards. No really, it's true, their brain doesn't fully develop until the mid 20's, so technically they are mentally disabled and are in need of parental assistance in deciphering what's real and what's not.

or in need of spitting out whatever their parents want them to believe.
