Attention all deer hunters

With the season set to begin on Saturday, you would be doing me and many other drivers a big favor if you could bag as many deer as possible near Route 5 south of Great Mills. Some mornings, this road looks like a deer war zone.

Actually I would prefer if you bag and tag up and down the Route 4 corridor.
Of course, I have noticed the boys pulling off to the side and gutting deer as they lay after getting hit. Nothing better to do that early in the morning I guess.

I know bow season as been in for a while. My dad as already killed 3 if that helps.

That's partly because we got rid of the wolves in the eastern states a long time ago. So now there's no natural predator to keep the deep population in check.

I personally don't like deer season. It's not their fault we developed the land that they have been located on for thousands of years. It's not their fault if we erradicated their predators either.

Hey UrbanIdiot! There are more deer now than there were when the pilgrims landed. The deer do better in transition zones (edges of woods/fields) than they do in deep forrests. The white man killed all the predators in most of the country, thus removing one of nature's safeguards/population controls from the picture. You just might want to do a teenytiny bit of research before you make such an un-informed statement again.

Today, I was driving down Billingsley Road close to the area where I had my accident last year, and a deer jump out in front of me. I slammed on my brakes
