I used AZZCLOWN to describe the families of the spoiled children of privilege.

I am capable of the worst type of behavior, I just know where to use it, and in this case. WHERE NOT TO.

Good point. Azzclowns come from all backgrounds. They might be wearing stained wife-beaters, or they might be wearing Armani suits. We know them by their clownish behavior.

Damn hijackers! Gotta watch out for short people and old people. *grrr*

Danzig, I feel your pain. There's ALWAYS some tard in the crowd that doesn't know how to act. Personally, I think they should have pellet guns trained on the crowd and take a shot at anyone showing poor manners. *ping* "What part of 'save your applause until the end' didn't you understand?"

back on topic

allow me to play devil's advocate a second ... isn't it kind of hard as a parent to withhold your emotions/excitement at seeing your child walk across that stage and not display your pride by applauding their accomplishments.

Heck, if my kid excels in school and is valedictorian or some crap, I plan to stand up hootin' and hollerin' ... not only b/c I'd be proud of her, but so peeps can see who helped get 'er there! :diva: :lmao:

But what about the 5 other families that miss their child's name being read because of your selfishness...:ohwell:

I didn't say I'd clap from the time her name is called till she walks across stage, gets-and-grins, walks off the stage, down the steps and to her seat.

In all actuality, I think it'd be a nice touch to have the parents of, say, the top 10% of the graduating class stand when their child is called. In this day, it's an accomplishment not just of the kid, but the parents to raise a kid that excels when so many are just little, smartazz, criminal punks. :ohwell: Parents who support and teach their children through school and encourage them to excel should be applauded as well, IMO.
